A new Nutmeg Nuisance piece posted a few weeks back on Soundcloud. Hope someone somewhere somehow enjoys it somewhat.

Gave this a listen. Very nice. I wasn't expecting anything like this. It's definitely different from most of what you hear around this place. I can picture this having been done back in the 70s.
Very well done. May I ask what synths you used?

Very cool!
When the data is corrupt in the Desert of the Real, Beyond the Last Thought, where intuition reigns, is the solace that will embolden and strengthen the soul, giving hope once more to this age of failing technique. eassae.com

Well done. A truly great listen. I'm curious to know what advise Wietze Krikke gave you. I heard stylistic elements from the '70s and '80s.

Glad you liked it. All VSTs. Intro and outro: Piano and OP-Xa V from Arturia, loads of Monark moogs (NI) throughout the piece, the CS80 (A) for the massive loud chords, a bit of Jupiter 8, Stage 73, DX7, Modular V and CMI (all Arturia) for background sound/drones/chords, Synthmaster one for the rhythmic synth bass, taken over by a bass from Odin2, and Zebralette3 for the arpeggiated tune, and for the bell-like sounds the ARP2600 (Arturia) and the PPG wave (Waldorf). Further fretless bass and Shreddage3 Stratus from ISW, and NI's Scarbee Pre-bass. Linn drum samples doubled here and there with drum sounds from Odin2. Crash cymbals from Odin2 are transformed to tuned 'sighs' using the Solaris reverb. And lastly RAR The Hipster's Bongos in Kontakt for the outro. That's about it.

Thanks.
Not sure if it is a serious question...but WK advised me on the composition and the mix - the acknowledgment is sincere.

Very nice! It’s always good to see that prog isn’t dead.

Thanks. 'Progressive' however is a funny name for old-fashioned music.

It is a mistake to assume that the progression of time equals the progression of art.fjvdwal wrote: Sun Mar 01, 2026 8:37 pm Thanks. 'Progressive' however is a funny name for old-fashioned music.

Listened to this when it first arrive on SC...still sounds great a few weeks later with fresh ears!
There's a lot going on, but it all fits together very well and morphs seamlessly through all the different textures and melodic ideas.
