Try this: Connect he left output to the right input. Mono connection will occur. Connect left to left, stereo. I'm glad you're liking Reason, Theo. I hope to hear something you've done with it soon.

It connects both to save you work (in most cases anyway), just disconnect the right cable again.

Hold down SHIFT when you connect the wires. That will stop it auto-wiring the right channel.

No you don't have to pan all left, reason appears to compensate for volume differences you'd get in hardware this way by itself.

You learn something new every day. I used to just disconnect after the wiring got done in stereo. I also hadn't realized that the cross-connecting thing I suggested would result in no sound. Who says the internet isn't educational? :)

ttoz wrote:Actually, I have one more question. I think I might be wiring reason's send effects wrong.

I can't seem to get the total 100% wet sound for example with a reverb, even with the channel send at 127.

For example:

I wire left and right RV-7 reverb input to AUX1 (send out) Left and Right on Mixer.

I wire AUX1 (return) left and right to RV-7 Reverb output left and right. I then turn up aux send 1 on particular mixer channel i want reverb on. I am wiring this correctly yes???
Yes, wiring correctly. For 100% wet on return, adjust mix in the effects device accordingly.

Not if you want 100% wet sound (effect only). What you're doing will result in 100% dry sound PLUS 100% effect sound (assuming you've got the effect mix itself set to 100% wet of course).

If you wanted effect only, but sourced from multiple mixer channels, wire it to aux send 4, either by creating it and then moving the wires, or holding down SHIFT while you create it and then dragging the wires to connect it.

Then, for every instrument (mixer channel) you want to send to this effect, turn up aux send 4, turn on the "P" button, and then drag the mixer fader all the way down to zero.

What the "P" button is, is a "pre-fader send" - in other words, it sends signal to the aux BEFORE it's modified by the mix fader. So the volume level sent to the send is the same regardless of the mix fader. Turning the mix fader to zero means none of the "dry" signal gets through at all.

Hope that makes sense, it's easier to do than explain! If you want me to email you a project wired up this way so you can see it, let me know.

Ches, this sounds cool with the Reverse Reverb on the RV7000. Very good explaination, G!
