Phonec 3 announced; pre-orders open

Where did you guys download this?? I pre-ordered Phonec 3 last weekend, but I haven't received a download link or anything like it.

Email sent by PM this morning, maybe email their support address if you didn't receive it? Or try to PM him here.

Here's the email:

"Hi,

Phonec3 has been updated to version 3.0.1 and is ready for download.

Note: Before installing, you should delete the presets that were previously installed in the following locations:

Mac (Users/Shared/Phonec3/Presets/)

Win (Users/Public/Public Documents/Phonec3/Presets/)

The reason for this is because the presets have now been organized into sub-folders, so you will get duplicates of a few if they are not deleted before installation. So it's best to start fresh.

If you have custom presets, just move them into a new folder within Presets and delete only the other ones. The installer will not overwrite them. Name your user folder "Custom" or something.

To get the update, just enter your email here and you will recieve your latest product downloads. The file versions in your account reflect the latest up to date files.

New in this version:

Fixed crashes that were occurring in some hosts.
Modulation fixes and improvements.
Several fundamental improvements.
CPU optimization.
Envelope Curve sliders (CRV) were not correct, now fixed; 0=Exponential, 50=Linear, 100=Inv Exp.
Fixed: Envelopes not retriggering properly.
Fixed: Osc Retrig not functioning.
Fixed: Envelope clicking when Osc Retrig.
Added sequencer indicators.
Improved HFO functionality, added PM to modulation list.
Fixed: Milk Res not updating.
Fixed: Melt Jitter causing noise.
Fixed: Knob values not displaying/updating consistently.
Preset Import is a much closer match.
Many new presets included + older presets in sub folders.
**A note about custom prests: You may need to tweak the Envelope Curve sliders on any prevously created presets since those slider parameters have been updated, as explained in the list above.

I just sent out updates this morning to all customers who had access to the previous version (orders made before Feb). I will be sending out download links to all preorders made after Jan 30th within the next hour. Thank you for your patience.

Got it! Installed. Sounds and looks great! The new UI is a significant refinement over Phonec 2, which was still pretty ok. I like how the mixer has been consolidated and eliminated. It seems to have a nice new sound, a little fuller and more power if needed, but still has the same vibe. Thanks for the update!

Phonec 2 still has usefulness in that it, so from my listening, has a dirtier lofi sound vs 3 which is a bit more refined. I am having fun layering sounds from Phonex 2 and 3.

In my experience the patch import typically results in something that's "sort of somewhere in the ballpark". It's a different synth with different waveforms and filters so that's to be expected really. I've tried matching presets; sometimes I can get very close, other times it's impossible to get a decent match.

As Plexuss said, there's a difference in character between the two synths. I find Phonec2 capable of sounding a bit more unstable. I wouldn't mind getting the oscillator drift and inverted saw back.

I love that there's a preset called Information Film. Brings me right back to a rainy day when they showed Canadian films in the gym at recess. I can almost feel the bully stepping on the back of my sneakers and yelling "FLAT!"

Working fine so far in FL Studio, thanks for the update

Just one thing. The Melt modulation seems to be unipolar, i.e. the pitch modulation only goes above the played note and never below. I don't think it works like that on Phonec2.

I'd like this to be fixed.
