What is the best Reverb plugin?

in my opinion (please correct) a good reverb need the following Features
- Low CPU ( for instance Fruity reverb or Ronan Fed AIRE
- dry AND wet knob ( No Mix)
- simple eq for wet
- "color" (high/bass) for wet
- Ducking
- rooms, hall, plate (No other needed)
- length 0.1 till 3 Seconds (No more needed)
- stereo wide for wet
- Bonus: gated cut

- Low CPU is good but not essential IMO - quality rather than quantity for reverb
- mix knob, never saw the point of separate dry/wet and never use the dry knob ever in anything
- Some kind of colour but don't need lots of Eq. Extra complication not good
- Never used and likely never will use ducking on reverb. If you need ducking, your reverb's too high in the mix
- room, hall, plate, reverse, ambience, outer reaches of Andromeda galaxy
- length 0.1 till 5 minutes
- gated is useful, I'll give you that one

I don't think there is a 'best' single plugin though personally, and am happy to own many reverbs. 'Best' is whatever sounds the best on the particular sound I want it on.

For example, I also like https://www.accentize.com/chameleon/ as it can help capture and emulate something I can already hear. Of course, then the IR can be saved and taken into another, and perhaps into https://www.fabfilter.com/products/pro- ... rb-plug-in to be converted (loosely) into an algorithm again.

It's all about the sound and end result, not so much the particular plugin.

Before we get into the reverb stuff, the best way is to create your own impulse responses yourself tbh.

The Exponential Audio reverbs of Symphony/Stratus get my vote. I only use them in Stereo. I am told the channels for immersion were broke. Don't know if it's ever been fixed. I do have a pile of reverbs that have come and gone, but I like these 2. While these sound really nice, the interface needs a little help.

But it's getting to be the time for a new reverb.

The two on my wish list are FabFilter R2 and Spitfire Audio Air Studio. Probably pull the trigger on one of these 2 when Black Friday falls upon us.

Update: When one can't decide which to buy, get both. I now have Fabfilter Pro-R2 and Spitfire Audio Air Studio. The Air Studio is the essentials version, and I purchased it at half off.

No, none of those. They can all be done in the DAW easily enough, and likely with better tools.

Just needs to sound good (and perhaps have a predelay).

The sad truth is, because of an interspacial anomaly, every reverb plugin is the best reverb plugin, so you have to actually buy them all or you're a loser. Sorry.

I am a total reverb tart. My love of reverb makes Enya's music "sound a bit dry." I blame the whole synth space music thing. I cannot list my reverb plugins publicly because the plugin police will smash down the front door and section me and the thought of Christmas incarceration is unbearable. And I might miss a reverb plugin Christmas sale.

Valhalla Futureverb is great as an effect but UA's Lexicon Digital reverb is gorgeous. Every template has it on a send track and it always gets used. I have most reverb plugins and it is brilliant.

Edit: I should add that typing in a jacket with extra long sleeves is really difficult.

Vahalla is top of the line. Soundtoys has some great reverbs and echoes that I use a lot of vocal samples. I probably reach for Native Instruments Raum the most because I’ve used it for so long.
