I'm trying to recreate the binaurial sound track in Audacity. I'm able to only make something very basic, like just waves, where this one is very detailed and has a super interesting sound. I was wondering that maybe someone could look and maybe point to how that was made.

Binaural Beats are merely two tones - usually pure Sine Waves so the de-tune beating is easier to hear clearly - one tone is placed on the left and one on the right. The tones are then detuned from one another by x number of Hertz. This is more easily done exactly with research equipment than musical instruments as while musicians do use detune and even the sense of beating it creates on occasion, they do it by feel and not based on a method based on a set of non-musical (and possibly pseudo-science) rules.

Zooming in with audacity it's clearly visible what exactly is done: Left channel: there's a LFO changing the volume.CrocoZaya wrote: Wed Mar 11, 2026 11:41 pm I was wondering that maybe someone could look and maybe point to how that was made.
Right channel: a similar LFO, depth being increased.
This is called Amplitude Modulation.
Maybe it's easier to do with a modular synth or a modular DAW so you can draw the control changes with automation lanes.
