Hey everyone, David here - co-founder of Orra Audio. We just launched our first plugin, Orra EQ: a 16-band parametric EQ with per-band dynamic saturation and 17 saturation types.

Wanted to share it with the community.

What Orra EQ is and why we built it

We wanted per-frequency control over our entire tone-shaping chain - EQ, saturation, and dynamics woven together however we needed, not locked into separate plugins.

Traditional Approach

Load an EQ to shape tone. Load a saturator for color. Load a compressor for dynamics. Each plugin processes your entire signal before passing it to the next - you can't EQ just the highs, saturate just the mids, then compress just the lows in one fluid chain. Full-signal processing, one stage at a time.

The Orra Way

Sixteen bands, each with its own mode. EQ one frequency, saturate another, compress a third — all in whatever order you want. Stack a tube saturator after a dynamic cut on the same band, or alternate between processing styles across the spectrum. Per-frequency control over your entire tone-shaping chain.

Built for your workflow

17 Saturation Types - All Dynamic-Ready

Choose from Orra Tube, 6 tape machines, and 10 creative saturators - from vintage preamp warmth to aggressive wavefolder destruction. Every saturation type can be made dynamic. Instead of just adding harmonics, dynamic saturation brings up quiet details through harmonic enrichment - like upward compression, but with saturation instead of just gain.

The result: presence and richness that responds to your playing. Saturation that breathes with your music.

Series-Chain Processing

Each band processes in series from Band 1 through Band 16 — the output of one band feeds directly into the next. That means you can EQ into saturation into compression across the spectrum, all within a single plugin. Shape your signal in stages, exactly the way you'd chain hardware units, but with per-frequency precision.

Snap to Note & Key

Stop guessing frequencies. Enable snap-to-note and your bands lock to musical pitches. Right-click any band and choose the exact note you want it locked to — C2, F#4, A1, whatever your song needs. No more hunting for frequencies with a calculator. Perfect for surgical work on bass notes, taming resonant frequencies in vocals, or making sure your boosts align with the actual music.

A Complete EQ - Plus Everything Else

Before you even touch saturation, Orra EQ is a fully-featured parametric equalizer: 16 bands, Q from 0.1 to 40, filter slopes up to 48dB/octave, and frequency range from 10Hz to 22kHz. High-pass, low-pass and bells - all the surgical tools you expect, with a real-time spectrum analyzer showing pre or post processing. Use it as a clean, transparent EQ when that's what you need. Then flip a band into saturation or dynamic mode when you want more. One plugin, zero compromises.

Interesting concept.
No direct demo download always turns me off.
What is your copy protection? Can it be used on a fully offline computer?
ABX is enemy to GAS

An absolute no-go for many (if not most) of us. 😉

Yeah that copy protection is DOA.

This is the sort of copy protection that gets crackers all riled up. Prepare to see your plugin (if it's any good) released by R2R, I guess. :D

Hey everyone, we've heard your feedback about the phone-home check and we're removing it. Update will be out ASAP. We appreciate the input - it's exactly the kind of thing that helps us build a better product and a better company. Thank you 🎧

I might go for RTO here, otherwise, maybe during a promotion.

Hey everyone,

Orra EQ v1.1.0 just launched

Thanks so much for the input. We've been listening and v1.1.0 is packed with cool stuff: per-band Mid/Side processing, keyboard shortcuts, the 7-day phone-home is gone, and a solid round of stability fixes.

Use code "UPDATE" at checkout to get Orra EQ for $49 (normally $79). This weekend only, expires Sunday night - 11:59 PST.
