No, actually the Akai disks I had back in the day were all 44.1k 16 bit.
My old sampler was the Akai S6000.
"The Akai S6000 is a 16-bit, 44.1 kHz sampler with a maximum sampling rate of 48 kHz"
I can't recall ever using anything 24 bit from disk.

I just found where to do that. Towards the right and at the top area, I clicked "Sample" and there is a disk icon that appears to export in various formats.
