Fellow producers and composers, I have an unusual proposition: an extra prize, if you will.
My full-time occupation is a 1-on-1 music production teacher/consultant. I always thought about donating some of my time to OSC in one way or another, but had a hard time figuring out how to go about it exactly. This month is as good as any to try.
Here's my idea:
I’m offering a free 1-on-1 consultation session to three OSC #204 participants who are the first to express their interest in this thread. Not limited to the podium, top-10 or anything else. So, simply any OSC 204 participant.
The idea is simple: I have a full-time schedule as a teacher, but my practice working with English-speaking clients isn’t very built up yet, as I'm not a native speaker. My benefit is that I'd like to have more practice, I might meet a potential future client, and I'm, honestly, simply very curious about what will come from this.
On the other side, I believe in my teaching skills very much, work on them all the time, hope I can be of use, and also have not only extensive production experience for media, but also OSC experience, which might interest this group of people
I get good ratings, I believe, and won my first OSC. Overall, I see this as a win-win, and want to test it out.
Before posting, plz make sure that you're comfortable speaking English, understanding spoken English (a mildly non-native one
), and can use Discord, so every participant could be accommodated to the best of my ability.
Just some extra details about the session itself:
The session is 1.5 hours, 1-on-1, free of charge (normally $85 worth). We can discuss any specific question you have about your finished track or WIP, general/specific technique, I'm happy to give critique of any material and explain what led to what problems. Music theory, sound design, mixing, synthesis; anything related to improving or completing a track. References and your other works (to orient me quickly, cause one session is still pretty limiting) are very welcome. I usually take people on for months and even years, with weekly sessions, but I'm confident we can do something productive during the first one, too. It can be about OSC or completely separate, whatever is your music/sound goal.
You can listen to my production (in different genres, every track was done in one day) here. But I hope to be more useful to you as someone who explains, tracks issues, and offers perspectives.
I hope this initiative is welcome, I was on the fence for a long time and decided to try it this month.
And congratulations on the very strong OSC month, indeed! Great work.

I love music, worked with a number of music/rhythm/dance games like Pump It Up, In The Groove, Cytus and Deemo, and teach music production.

Oh wow, this is a nice surprise.
I almost didn't submitted my entry as I wasn't feeling the direction it was having, but Z.Prime & fbr inspired me to polish it a bit more, I'm glad I did.
As for the prize I pick Kontrast by Dawesome, maybe I'll some day also finish my Kontrast piece (which I didn't submitted to the contest back in January).
Strong round, and I'm happy to finally finished something with a Nakst plugin.

Great round everyone! Some really interesting pieces that pushed the envelope. J.Ruegg's piece was fantastic!
For our prize, please hook up my collaborator andyrichmond with the Synthmaster Bundle.
If the Yuli Yolo Vital Pack prize is still around as a secondary, I'd love that.
Thanks to bjporter and RichardSemper for hosting!
