Amplitube 5 execution time...

In an attempt to improve this execution time, I ran many tests and analyzed all the processes that happen in the background. I discovered some interesting things...
All IK software, including Amplitube, constantly and loopingly checks the Windows registry. This doesn't necessarily impact loading time, but it can effectively consume processing power.
Another point... After disabling everything in Windows that could impact Amplitube's loading (search, antivirus, etc.), it became clear, at least to me, that the cause lies in the online checking of licenses and files containing gears, presets, and other files. Even with a good SSD, the loading times are terrible, and I feel sorry for those who still use HDDs instead of SSDs.
I wonder if IK couldn't package some files and eliminate license checks every time it opens (and only do it periodically), aiming to reduce loading time, anyway... I have Amplitube 4 and I could say that it opens instantly, even being the MAX version and having numerous presets...
Continuing, I'm asking IK to look into this issue, because compared to other options on the market, Amplitube has been taking a backseat in my workflow, and I've always used it as my main software...
And yes, I understand all the ideas of pre-loading, using templates, etc... But in my view, this is transferring the responsibility for improving usability to the user.

My 2 cents.
Amplitube takes a ridiculously long time to load, even a simple preset.
IK Multimedia doesn't care what's wrong with their software. Their customer service is second to worst.
Amplitube is the best overall guitar amp/capture suite on the market, especially for the money.

I have Amplitube 5 Max,and Tonex, but have recently been using the UAD amps. They load quickly, but the cpu load is probably quadruple what Amp5 is. That's just for an amp with no FX. I just recently discovered this. The UAD amps sound good, but not 4 times as good. I'll probably start using the IK stuff more, but you're right...initial load time is ridiculous. It's not like I'm running a potato in my studio.

Trying to count 'one thousand one, etc.' Amplitube loaded in under 10 seconds (closer to 5). I went through a few presets and they all loaded within 1 second. It was an empty project and in Windows 10 using Reaper. In my experience most of Arturia's synths take as long, or longer, to load than Amplitube so I've never felt Amplitube took an abnormally long time to load.
Yesterday I loaded Halion Sonic in Bitwig and that took about a minute.

Oh my god! That would be incredible. Unfortunately, I've already done everything I could in my system to try and get those numbers, and it's really not possible...

Thinking about it, if the IK team can achieve these optimized loading times on the Mac version, why not do it on Windows? I think if it's possible...

That is definitely a problem if you're playing or trying to play live. In such case might be better to load all the presets in different instances of Amplitube on their own tracks and switch tracks through Reaper/DAW.Cuauhtli wrote: Mon Mar 16, 2026 5:02 pm Trying to count 'one thousand one, etc.' Amplitube loaded in under 10 seconds (closer to 5).
