If you need a plugin to add analog warmth to your harsh sounding digital vst, that should make you think a bit about your source too. Trying to fight your digital outcome with another digital tool trying to compensate what was introduced from the beginning, might be counterproductive. With that said, there are real analog pedals for cheap, or boutique outboard for not so cheap, which will actually do what you asked for. There certainly also are some plugins which can emulate such behavior, yet those will also 'to a degree' add digital artifacts, again.

If you are on Windows the free Variety of Sound plugins are all you will ever need. Especially their Tessla and Thrillseeker series products and the latest iteration of FerricTDS.

Otherwise you can't go wrong with Fuse Audio / NEOLD products.

Still nothing really beats vintage warmer for me. And I still use the v1 algorithm for lower latency and am perfectly happy with that. I spent years trying to emulate it. Can’t even remember why. Maybe it wasn’t a compatible format or something. But the magic basically comes from nice multiband compression with pleasant saturation. Lots of things can do that. It’s just quick and a sweet spot effect. And I guess that’s why people like tape and tape effects. The slight compression and saturation. I also used to really like trash when it had the multiband compression.

I also use the PSP Microwarmer (comes with VintageWarmer) for beefing up various weaker synth lines with nice harmonics. But the big brother goes to the drum or mix buss.
