well, that was just a comparison of how the synths handle the factory presets, clearly the roland was the only one that paid attention to making sure the presets were correct.
different synths treat the sliders and knobs differently, halfway on one synth might be 2/3rds on another, and clearly that was the case here. you can tell both the cherry and ultramaster's attack and release times were WAY too long.
if you want to make an actual comparison of the synths you need to go in and play with the individual parts, how the filter behaves at different levels, envelope behavior.. you know the important stuff...
i made fun of the ultramaster for its ridiculous aliasing but its Juno 6 filter actually sounds pretty good, quite similar to the roland cloud Juno 60 one. it saturates quite nicely and doesn't sound sterile like some other filters like the TAL-U-NO-LX one for example.

I agree. Juno 106 have a tremendous sub + a boost hpf. There is nothing on the Cherry and UltramasterTubeman wrote: Fri Mar 20, 2026 10:50 pmFrom listening the audio and looking at the video visuals of the MIDI clips it does not look like the Roland is an octave lower. There just seems to be something missing from the two other emulations at least in these examples.Vortifex wrote: Fri Mar 20, 2026 10:00 pmWould've been better if the Roland wasn't an octave lower than the other plugins for most of those examples...autodafe wrote: Fri Mar 20, 2026 6:13 pm I made a comparison video yesterday (many updates since then!) and compared it to Roland own Juno-106 and Cherry Audio DCO-106, if you are interested

From Autodafe's comparisson video (thanx man!) I prefer the KR.
It has character which is so important to me.
Roland sounds rather bland and typical digital VA.
The Cherry has character too but I prefer the KR there.
Aliasing: Oversampling and there you go...

There is a free demo for you to try,SAGG wrote: Sat Mar 21, 2026 4:13 pm Roland, TAL and Softube for me (for Juno).
Got some sick string and brass pads for Arturia Juno V as well.
Haven't tried Audiothing June yet. Anybody got it and happy with it?

I wonder how this would compare against Audiothing’s JUNE as well.

thanks cap, we know "there is a demo", but that's not what forums are for. on forums we share user experiences, stuff like that, yeah? shall I downsplain further? what? traffic rules for pedestrian safety? how to add 2 and 2? I'm here all the livelong day for you, sweetie, you take your time there, don't rush it

It is funny how "sweetie" is the kvr diss. A search shows me 220 uses of sweetie, but this thread, for example, didn't show up in the search
Anyway, these grafx are glorious. Makes me want to use Rebirth.

Cherry audio DCO-106 feels like licking on a roll of toilet paper on a hot summer day and expecting it to feel like a cold soothing Ice cream.TechHaus wrote: Mon Jun 01, 2026 6:32 pm Omg watching that video I am shocked people defend cherry audio on here. Shame on you folks. You are all sweeties.
