10 whole days until the new thing. I learned of the SH-5, SH-7, SH-101, etc. clone less than 10 days from it's release. I think waiting for the Nth synth and all the illegal legalities and all the war on peace and stuff is kinda un-nifty enough to die for!

Boy oh boy!

Seems like:

Can't be Matrix-12 or DW-8000 because it has DCO's.
Can't be JX-8P or Poly 61 because it's hybrid.

I don't know of a hybrid synth that has DCO's or a DCO synth that is hybrid.

Which era/feature set is that one? Is Gem the manufacturer? Sounds uninteresting perspectively.

So maybe it's DCOs, maybe an analog filter, but digital envelopes and some other digital stuff?

JX-8P or Poly 61/Poly 800 would fit that bill, and I was also thinking of the Oberheim Matrix 6 - even if we don't really think of those synths as "hybrid" as such... They're all around 1985 (bit earlier for the Korgs) which would fit the "dawn of the hybrids" timeline... Also some of the SCI stuff like the Multi-trak too. The digital/computer stuff started creeping in the mid-80s.

The whole "artifact" thing is curious, and how they started with that word in the video specifically...

It would be awesome if they did the SH-Max treatment on these. JX-Max, Poly-Max, Matrix-Max, etc.

I didn’t know about it until I did some searches.

Oberheim Matrix 6R maybe?

Oberheim 6R would've been the one I want but I'm feeling overextended and just graduating towards my "1st" (reincarnated to bliss "out" again now) eurorack modulargrid.com modular for my end-game plan. Something makes me snatch up all the Cherry there is but, yeah. 6R. Vintage, real good DAC imitation and I'm half there. I didn't like more than half of the collection but some of the actual synths are the tops to me. Bodhisatva would be proud if he knew the way of the Cherry Audio coneheads!

That sounds great! I wouldn't be able to get it to sound as great as this guy, though.

Yes but 50 devs have done a MiniMoog so no reason we couldn't have two DW 8000'S.

I have absolutely no idea if it's going to be a DW 8000. It was just a wishful guess although it doesn't have DCO so that would seem to rule it out.

I just hope it's not another Juno......

Yes we do have enough Minimoogs and Junos now imo

I'm afraid you're probably right.

Well then there's me in the "disappointment" phase......
