It's 99.99 % of musicians making/listening to crappy pop music.

We desperately need to get more comedians around here, because I can't believe the number of folks seriously replying to incredibly, obviously, and ridiculously silly "humor".

Watch some Jimmy Carr youtube videos, people.

But for those who still don't get it:

No, Microsoft does not get a report every time you visit a website with pics of nude nuns.

That is reported every other visit. And we at MS definitely know whenever you store files from www.PriestInDiapers.com on OneDrive. :: peers at Tales ::.

And as far as the law is concerned, we're Microsoft, We own the politicians who pass those laws (that we write).

Unfortunately, that last part wasn't a joke.

Well, I can never be sure who is joking about what here. The whole Linux discussion sometimes reads as a comedy :)

Yep. Same stuff has been going round and round since 90's. And in 90's I meself even believed in it as I was administering the servers... few years later I ran Windows because of audio.
Soft Knees - Live 12, Diva, Omnisphere, Slate Digital VSX, TDR, Kush Audio, U-He, PA, Valhalla, Fuse, Pulsar AUDIO, NI, OekSound etc. on Win11Pro R7950X & RME AiO Pro

The "Apple" clamor I was referring to was pre-millennium.
I ask again how and where the "3-5%" numbers are obtained?
And now ask how do you tell if a nude person is a nun?

BTW, Just got a ZDnet article about a MS response to growing customer complaints and it appears as tone deaf as always...

Still no plans for turning off updates completely and not coming back on until user requests it. Only longer pauses between them. And nothing about stripping the commercial bloat that begs to be online. And puts it back on in each update after specifically removing it.

lunardigs wrote: Sun Mar 22, 2026 2:59 pmWell, 25 years ago is roughly two generations ago (gen Z and gen A in this case), so .... I don't think a Linux audio workstation is in your future let's just say.
That's my point, Linux may have improved out of sight in 25 years but it's market share remains pretty much the same as it was back then. Nobody is interested.
You're not interested. To say 'nobody is interested' is just silly.

My bigger point though is that you/your generation naturally wouldn't be. Which is fine.
Nonetheless, Linux (the philosophy and everything realized, but mostly the philosophy and ideas) persists. And will continue--be it called Linux or not. Again, Linux is not a brand. At least not in any traditional way.
This is why fandom, brand-wars and 90's style consumerism-think doesn't conform well here.
For instance, try to define what Linux even is. And not in some cute silly way, but really try to define it. And then try to define what it isn't. And then ask someone else what it is and isn't ... Good luck
This is also why predicting it's future is silly.

I think you can safely ignore Linux stuff for the rest of your life probably.
Unless I want to go and work on feature films. Most VFX post-production houses run Linux because they can customise the shit out of it to fit their pipelines and workflows. Linux has its place but Android is the only version that will ever be popular.
Disagree. You can't say what will be popular or not.
I mean, who here predicted the domination of Android phones, worldwide, by Google? Wouldn't a Microsoft Windows phone have been more likely? Or some other established brand like Blackberry, or Nokia?
BONES wrote: Sun Mar 22, 2026 11:49 pm
Put another way, the "inevitable rise of Linux", or even "prime time Linux" will be a non-event for those who grew up with Windows probably.
Which is still everybody. Windows remains by far the most used desktop OS and that's not going to change just because you want it to.
No. There are plenty of people who never had a Windows desktop, or desktop whatsoever. In fact, many have only ever had a phone as their personal computer. And no, you can't say that 'Windows will remain the most used desktop.' Nor can you say what I want exactly.

What I'm really wondering though is why you're hanging out in another Linux thread?

But then she's not completely nude.
Maybe I would be expecting more - like with the old riddle of how do you tell when you've really met Adam and Eve in a nudist colony...

true, very true...

maybe we should ask ChatGPT, par for the course in this discussion.

Suffice it to say, nuns aren't visibly nuns when nude, but half dressed/parts exposed ones can fit in the Halloween costume sections of "slutty-" along with the nurses, pirates and witches.

I hear Windows 12 will be SAAD (Software As A Disservice).

If she has a ruler in her hand she's probably a nun AND a teacher.

They have their own distro as well. Might be worth a look. Anything else is pointless. It requires a company to pull Linux out of the alpha stage.

I love the current KVR.
