Didjy rendering in Reason 13.5

Is anyone having odd rendering issues with their DAW recently?
The vid in the link shows how my Reason has developed an odd habit of starting fine, then stalling. Rolling over the Taskbar starts it up again, for a few bars. That used to be all, but now songs just stall and the computer locks up. Coming back a bit later the render will be compete and seem perfect. Everything seems fine in general use.

It may just be a Reason thing, but I have no idea overall.

Latest Reason update, but it was happening in the version before.

Just a guess, but is "Play in background" disabled in Preferences > Audio? If so, try enabling it.

I've only ever had a render lock up from a VST that was triggering a modal popup window during the render. I guess this is still happening even with no VSTs?

Nope, Play In Background is ticked and in the system, Exclusive mode is off.

I don't have many BST and none of them open windows randomly. Interesting idea tho.
It is doing it in every project and I don't think I have taken on anything new for a while. I try things, but they usually go within a few hours.

For any future searchers, this was entirely related to Chrome taking some sort of control of Audio and MIDI devices. Everything played but would not render IF I had Reason open then watched a FB or YT video etc.

Closing Reason, making sure no Chrome pages were playing audio or video, starting Reason fresh (again no Chrome) I would get perfectly normal renders.
