Hey,
I found following announcement while actively searching for Caustic:
Good news, I've managed to get my old Caustic 3.2 and Mastering code to compile and run for 64bit Android, but you'll need to jump through a few hoops.
First and foremost: understand that this is NOT an update. It's just whatever was last published on Google Play, made to run on modern Android devices.

Now, you'll need to be comfortable side-loading an APK, I'm not going into how to do that. Look up "installing from unknown sources" or something similar for your model of phone or tablet.

Next, to bypass all the file handling mess that was keeping me from upgrading my apps in the first place, I've decided to go the nuclear option and request access to ALL YOUR FILES, like a file manager app would.

This way, Caustic can still access the root/caustic directory like it did before (it should even be able to load up your old files and presets if you haven't deleted them).
Normally you can't just do this as Google won't publish your app on the Play Store with this permission, but hey, we're not on the play store.

After running for the first time you should see a system popup asking you to flick the switch to allow file access.
If you don't, it'll just keep asking you so either trust me, or don't install these.

In testing, some users have reported crashes when enabling MIDI in Caustic.
That's unfortunate, I think something changed in the way USB devices are accessed now, so if it doesn't work, there's not much I can do about it.

No need for the unlocker APKs, enjoy.

Has anyone tried already? I'd rather someone else bricks their phone
No, seriously I'm not 100% certain, if I would try this on my main phone at the moment. I would rather hear some experience reports...

Well, I don't use phones nor 'apps' don't even have a cellphone & certainly will never have a 'smart' phone, I don't waste money on that crap...

But anyone can still get the desktop versions from the wayback Win7-10/WinXP-Vista/MAC-

The bigger deal is all the presets that were lost as you had to be logged in to download them... I think I probably have 90% or better & just organized a couple weeks ago... I plan on uploading to archive.organism if there's enough interest... I also have some HiQ PCMSynth presets that i have made personally but will probably upload those to a different page... These are from SF2s that have every semitone sampled so sound just like the synths sampled from, yes, some large as much as 90 MB for a single instrument but we all got larger HDDs these days...

Caustic is still great for sketching, even for whole tracks if you can live with its limited features compared to desktop DAW/Synths.
I can wholeheartedly recommend caustic for any musician, for one main reason, and its a really good one, let me explain..

Caustic was for me, back in the day till very recently, my main DAW, and has been for years, and Im greatly thankfull for its limited thou fully functional layout and 14 tracks.
It was the overload of options on the desktop that made me switch, being a knob-twidler and "detail-rider" into the vast options DAW's and VST synth and FX does have. It made the choices a mass of noise to the creative process, for me.
Thank heaven I found Caustic back in the day, believe me, it was fully fun to have, and still is, as I see it, when you learn to master Caustic, you can do much of the fun found in "Fullsize" DAW's, within certain limits ofcourse.

14 tracks max, thats 14 slots for synths of your choice, that you can mangle in a lot more ways than you might think given its limited features.
2 FX slots for each track, all the casual ones like phase, delay, filters, distortion, chorus and so on.
and 2 main FX for the Master, including limiter/compressor.
and sure, there is the sequencer, also limited in the greatest way, thou you can draw automation for almost anything, both in the synth tracks and for the FX slots for every track, plus for anything like panning, volume, effect returns.
Its this limited option set that is really the key to actual joy, as the endless nightmare of desktop DAW can be a pitfall for many a knob-fidler where you loose yourself nudging details instead of making tracks.

I have been using it on a Galaxy tab S7 Plus, and recently on a Galaxy tab 8 Ultra, and even my goold old Galaxy S20 for the fun of it, having my tracks with me, anywhere I like, just need a pair of headphones and Im good to go, I got the DAW, I got the synths, I got the drum tracks, FX tracks, and sequencer, its freedom in a pocket.

I've got a setup with a fine pair of IFI gear, the Zen Dac 2 Signature and the Zen Can Amp, a short 4.4mm balanced cable, and Beyerdynamic DT1990 Pro on-da-head, and it is a little marvel.

Now Im on the reverse journey back to Desktop, having recently bought Bitwig Studio, now in V6, I bought Uvi Falcon, Pigments 7, Diva and Zebra 3, Dune 3, SynthMaster 3, XLN XO and XLN Life, the motherload of Arturia FX, some is usefull some not that much, and lastly VSL Vienna ensemble Pro 8, the Bösendorfer Studio.
I ignored the advice of just "buy one and master it before buying the next" for the synths, adn I lay as I have sown, so to speak.
but the best thing is, having leaned to live and create within the limits of Caustic, I have once and for all learned the leason of keeping a sharp focus on creating and not getting overloaded with options and thousands of readymade presets.

Give it a spin, you cant go much wrong in it, you got export to flac/wave, both stems and single tracks if you want to tweak it further in you favorite DAW and effect suite of choice, and maybe if your like me, learn to deal a bit with that aforementioned endless fiddling that breaks you flow, by using a splendidly limited fine example of a idea sketchpad with most of what you really need.

Maybe my initial post was a little too ambiguous. It's not that I need convincing to use Caustic at all. I love Caustic. Actually, I bought licenses for both Caustic and Mastering App and have them installed on several older Android devices and also use them on my PC from time to time. I was rather annoyed, when those were dropped from the Play store.
My Question was rather whether anyone has tried the overhauled version, which needs sideloading on Android, and therefore is not available at the Play store.
