Safari Audio - Meaw:Assist (A but no I)

so Safari Audio released an AI assistant that can be loaded as a plug-in.
Not a bad idea but initial tests are rather disapointing.
Here's one example:
it's a fun tool and might be correct sometimes but, it's like all other AI tools.... mostly guessing.

Nice - and you can see: there are all kinds of AI.
In this case, the Meaw AI supports and entertains the mixers
and producers who are all alone, autistic and lonely, struggling
along. Almost like a stray cat that can even talk. And utters
topic-appropriate, but banal sentences – a kind of psychological
support.
AI is thus also encroaching on the realm of interpersonal small
talk.

well it's not super expensive (at least not if you previously bought other stuff from them) but yeah.... it seems to not be working all to well.
it just told me to use the safari pedals harmonic exciter at a 4kHz setting.
I checked Falcon Air and it only goes down to 6kHz and is the only exciter of them I could think of.
So I asked it for the exact name of the plug-in and it took quite a while to answer that.
Finally it said Falcon Air but changed its answer to 5kHz, because Falcon Air doesn't have a 4kHz setting.
Well but there's no 5kHz setting either....
all in all though I think the concept is fun and I could see myself using it when there's no one else around to quickly lend a second set of ears..... or to give advise I don't want to follow.. but for this it should work (better than now at least)

I rather get a real cat and ask it instead. The answers won't be any better but at least I can pet it.multree wrote: Wed Mar 25, 2026 10:10 am it just told me to use the safari pedals harmonic exciter at a 4kHz setting.

I got some interesting results. Things I wouldn't have thought about. If it can draw my attention to potential issues then it's useful and it doesn't need to be fed or petted.
This is the same method MJ used when he was working on Anthony Marinelli's Thriller.
