I believe that the price for this VST is an absolute bargain. At the same time, I predict SWAYED will become one of our go-to synths for years to come.

Post

who is the dev?
Isn't it his first release?
I knew 12 years ago Waves would still sell and release plugins for many years, but a no name dev?
or did I miss something?
Today release of plugin, next year probably gone?
There is nothing more expensive than money these days. You can get Avenger for 99 and it is a workhorse - one of the best synths out there,Sway is just an emu, isn't it?
Well, it depends on the weather, if it rains on release day, I won't buy. I'm a big Yamaha lover, though. I have also decided not to buy Zebra 3,
costs for living are rising drastically.
Western world is on the verge of economic collapse , maybe think about 9,99.
Most people have to eat the bread crumbs of yesterday and refueling is limited and not affordable anyway.
I could offer the dev 4 Softube plugins, worth a lot more than this synth, in exchange
There couldn't be a worse time to release an expensive plugin regarding the mess that's going on right now in the whole world.

Why do you predict so?

I upgraded from Arturia V collection 8 to V Collection 11 Pro today for the same money. SWAY will need to be something very special for me to take it seriously.

Like most folks on this thread, I've been following Sheaf on the forum and on his website. From what I've seen so far, SWAYED looks like more than just a straight up SY/TG emulation-it seems capable of going further depending how you use it. I plan to keep an open mind and see what the reviews say. Every developer starts somewhere and if their synth delivers, that's what matters. I plan to buy it and see for myself how it holds up. Early impressions look promising-this one might surprise folks.

That's a good deal! IMHO I believe Swayed may surprise us...

I will keep an open mind on SWAY too but I will need to be convinced.

There's been so much enthusiasm for this project. But for me it was listening to the demos on Sheaf's website and having a TG-77 to compare those sounds to blew me away. I'm just being optimistic towards someone whose labor of love may just replace that bulky beast I've been lugging around for years. Wishing Sheaf the very best upon his release of SWAYED.

Well if we were to go through and count the number of different individuals who have contributed to the thread we'd get a better idea of interest. A small group of contributors making multiple posts can add up to 93 pages pretty quickly.

Of course there is no way to tell how many people will be interested after it's released. I'm sure there are many outside the hallowed halls of KVR who might have not even heard of the project yet. Once it is released word will spread quickly enough.

Even if I don't end up buying it I hope it's a tremendous success. Obliviously a lot of work has gone into the project so I hope there is substantial compensation for the effort.

Now all we can do is have patience and wait for a demo. Sadly, patience has never been my forte.

The first thing I am going to do before buying is turn on my SY77 a little more often to see if I really need it. Nostalgy is all very nice but with today's VI's choices and possibilities are overwhelming. Regardless of what I decide, best of luck with the launch!

I am absolutely buying Swayed the moment it is released - and sincerely hope it will happen next week.

For decades I have been waiting to replace my long lost SY77 and had some hope that Yamaha would do it, but for whatever reason they don´t care about soft synths. So I am more than greatful that Sheaf made this happen and based on the audio examples and songs I have heard, this is one amazing plugin.

Keep in mind that SWAY will not have an exact replica of the SY77 Wave Rom. So therefore I don't look at it as emulation but as a potential upgrade to the hardware. I assume it will have more than the 4 MB of Wave Rom the SY77 does and perhaps the sample content will be upgraded to modern standards (24 bit perhaps).

Again we just have to wait until we can spend time with the demo before we can intelligently decide to purchase or not.

Load the demo on your system, see if it does the types of sounds you want and need at a level of quality and CPU performance that you desire.

Shouldn't take more than half an hour to answer those questions. There is no other way to fairly judge the plugin (any plugin for that matter).

I wonder if the ability to load the factory ROMs will be included.
