I think this has to do with the style and the intention of the artist/producer... I wouldn't call the Eminem song "digital", but the snare sounds - surely intentionally! - like a razor's edge...and there's even too much inharmonic distortion in it, IMO...but maybe this is because of the bad Youtube quality?K-Slash wrote:As for a song example, what comes to mind here is this :
WARMTH
"DIGITAL" (kick and snare sound harsh)
Good plugins for analog warmth?

PSP VIntagewarmer with 50% mix to let the transients come through. Finalize 1 is usually my starting preset.

That was the first plugin i thought of. Been a while since i used it but VW was my go to for adding analog warmth to the mix or drum bus.ksandvik wrote:PSP VIntagewarmer with 50% mix to let the transients come through. Finalize 1 is usually my starting preset.

the point of my question is to get an answer that can be challenged on a forum and see whether or not some other Devs might know what is real and what is just PR Bull.

There as myriad threads here and other forums you could read through
There are demos available of most processors so you could test for yourself
I did not insult you more than I did myself BTW

I develop plugins (Buchert Audio) so I'm biased — but Warmth Engine came out of my own frustration with saturation tools that add harmonics uniformly. I wanted control over where in the spectrum the warmth sits, so I built it around spectral tilt. We also have a free stereo width plugin (The Double Wide) if you want to try our approach to DSP before buying anything.

If you put your plugin into the fridge for about 14 years, it will actually warm up itself due to climate change.
