Plugoff is a free plugin manager we made to help tidy up and offload unused plugins. Scans and cateogrises your plugins by manufacturer, type and format. 100% Free https://midifex.com/plugoff

Unused plugins can be offloaded to a folder or external drive, leaving just the plugins and formats you need. Filters UAD plugins (offload the ones your dont own), keep your DAW tidy and save hard drive space.

Looks very useful thanks

Nice! I hope this is better than PlugPane, cause that was really buggy, ended up with 7000 "plugins" after a rescan.

Looks great at first glance. Missing CLAP support.

Can I set additional VST folders? Because I have them off separate from my boot drive.

Thanks for trying Plugoff, much appreciated!

Yep we agree about custom folders and this is already on our roadmap and will be in an upcoming release. You'll be able to add your own plugin directories so Plugoff picks up plugins installed outside the standard system locations.

We didn’t initially add CLAP but can see its now getting wider traction than we expected so will add that to our list too. It's a straightforward format to add so expect to see it in a future update.

The other common request has been to manually select a plugin category (e.g. Synth, Effect etc) as often the Plugin manufacturers don’t include that in their metadata. Also to add a note (searchable) about the plugin and its uses. We are looking at those features too.

Cheers

This is great - plugin scanning was extremely fast and no crashes so far - just offloaded 8GB of plugins to an external drive

The UAD support seems to be only if you have the hardware versions - not native - as it asks to connect to your UAD hardware.

This is great! I'd been wanting to make the exact same thing, but haven't had the time.

I can confirm it works as advertised, got rid of about 300 AAX and VST2 plugs I didn't know had installed! I also archived about 20 older versions of plugs I don't use...really nice looking and professional plug for a freebee, great job.
X32 and 24C mixers, S88MK3, Live + PUSH 3, Osmose, RedShift 6, Pro3, S4, Tempera, Syntakt, Digitone, OP1-F, OPXY, TR-1000, Eurorack, TD27 Drums, Guitars, Basses, Amps and of course lots of pedals!

Those aax plugins. Deselect it every time and it gets installed anyway.

I'm getting a "You cannot install Plugoff in this location" message. Does it work with Tahoe?

Post

I installed Plugoff to check it out. It requires a user account to run, which I can't be bothered with. Uninstalled.

Hi , yep Plugoff works fine on Tahoe. That error just means it needs to be installed to your Applications folder. Make sure the main Macintosh HD is selected as the destination when running the installer. Let us know if you're still stuck!
