I just released Arponaut, a free pattern-based arpeggiator VST. You can find it on my webiste:
https://groovemusicindustries.com/
What makes it different from other pattern-based arps is the workflow: it has two editable sections:
- Pattern section (the usual arp pattern lane)
- Chords section (a dedicated chords lane you can also edit)
This opens up routing/workflows that standard “pattern-only” arpeggiators don’t really allow.
Depending on how you route MIDI from your DAW, you can:
- Route MIDI into the Pattern lane,
- Route MIDI into the Chords lane,
- Dont' use MIDI in DAW and edit both in plugin
It’s designed for creative exploration and “happy accidents”, to get arpeggios and musical ideas you probably wouldn’t have written manually.
A short tutorial to get you started:
Feedback, bug reports, and ideas are very welcome.
Thanks for checking it out!
Greetings,
Ambroos
