Hi,

I've been building a software mixer for Windows that works in a similar way to TotalMix FX, but without being tied to any specific hardware. Happy to share what I've got and get some real-world feedback before a public release.

What it does:
- 32-channel routing matrix — every input to every output, up to 32 mix buses
- ASIO and WASAPI support, hot-switchable without restart
- Per-process audio capture (Windows 11 — capture audio from individual apps)
- OOP VST3 hosting — plugins run in isolated child processes, so a crash doesn't take the session down
- Control room section: PFL/AFL monitoring, solo, talkback-ready
- Linear recording with WAV/FLAC/MP3 support
- Built on JUCE 8, Release x64

It's pre-release. The audio engine is solid and I've been using it on real sessions. The UI is functional but not final. I'm not after feature requests at this stage — I want to know whether it holds up under real use, unusual routing, and heavy plugin loads etc.

If you're interested in taking it for a spin, post here or send me a PM and I'll get a build to you.

I wouldn't mind testing this out.

I'm not a windows user, but I'm a big fan of TotalMixFX. Just bumping this thread to give me +1 on this. It's a great initiative, and I hope it gains traction.

Wow! Had an hdsp 9652 and loved it!

FusionDesk Beta-2 (formally Skylark) is now available for wider testing.

FusionDesk is a Windows software mixer for routing, monitoring, processing, and recording audio across ASIO, Windows Audio/WASAPI, Per-Application Audio Capture, Dante Virtual Soundcard, and ASIO4ALL setups.

I’m especially interested in feedback from real-world Windows audio users: audio enthusiasts, bedroom producers, streamers, musicians, project studio owners, and professional engineers. You do not need a complex studio setup to help. If you route audio, monitor live sources, use VST3 plugins, record, stream, or just like experimenting with Windows audio, your feedback would be useful.

Current build:
v0.6.133.3524 Beta-2

I’m looking for feedback on stability, routing behaviour, device compatibility, App Capture, VST3 hosting, recording workflows, and anything that feels confusing or unreliable.

Thanks to anyone willing to try it and report back.

You mention feedback, is that possible in the mixer?

Link doesn't work

Edit (06.03.2026)
Link works, site and app previews look incredible..actually very impressive! This would solve a lot of my routing issues, and it hosts VSTs?! Applied for a beta spot as soon as I saw that 😅. I've been looking for something like this for a long time! Hope to hear back, and get a beta spot!
