been working on my make noise score piece.
using a host for the first time in a couple of years, to arrange audio and some midi bits

id forgotten so much, much of the time has been spent remembering how to do the basic things
it's a very involved piece top, 4 "characters" in a scene. looking forward to having it finished and played on the make noise channel 8)

I'm packing the house up. Been at it for months now, since getting a Section 21 (no-fault) eviction notice on the Winter Solstice. Still looking for a new place to live. Rents have gone up a lot since I moved here. Gonna have to stop buying so much music gear. 🙃

Boy that's rough! I hope you can find a decent place.

Can’t wait to hear it!

Might miss this Wednesday showcase due to work, but will catch it later if it airs this week!

I’m in the office twice this week for no good reason, just that the uppers are excited about a (buggy) software rollout. I don’t need to be there, but that’s just what it is.

Finally got my arrangement done for a new track. It’s my first Syntakt origins track and I’m doing the tedious organization and re-recording of bits, cleaning up some other bits with RX and getting ready to mix. Still have some percussive parts to redo, but I’m getting closer.

I’d love to be done this week, but it might take me a couple weeks to mix because of work, and because it’s got way more parts than I normally feel comfortable with.

The video idea is likely over my head but if I find the time, it’ll be fun.

Sometimes it's like finding a locked treasure chest when you find a project you started months ago and forgot... Coming back in you can make practical decisions like how long should it be and should you add any more sounds.
Spent several hours in the final clean-up work and then mixed and mastered it- really great little tune at just 2:30. Hadn't done any music since November and, after a walk in the park, came back to have fun with Cascadia and the set-up I had patched up since last weekend.
Almost felt bad I didn't go to the No Kings rally, but I forgot everything else while on the music drug.

bit nervous tbh, working on someone ejees score, and someone who seems to have done this kind of thing before. given the depth of the score i received, and it's "story" brief, im guessing there's expectations, that are beyond my limited skills  but im happy with what ive done, especially considering it's all host work, no modular beyond the sample manipulation we've done through the iterations.

I wouldn’t worry about the expectations. They’ve had the pleasure of being processed by vurt!

You get to simply say, “you’re welcome!”

Seriously, what makes this exciting IS the different interpretation of their score. It can come out so many different ways with even with the most detailed instruction.

:o Have I missed some kind of re-mix thingy? (a much favored form of "collaboration") Notwithstanding, I agree with the above, and look forward to hearing your efforts, Vurt. :tu: :D
I'm not a musician, but I've designed sounds that others use to make music. http://soundcloud.com/obsidiananvil

A continuation of the Make Noise shared thingy they did. This time, it’s creating a score that someone else will create. Vurt is doing Cinematic Laboratories score. I’m not sure who got his.
