Ladies and Gentlemen we are officially in the disappointment phase...at least here.Teksonik wrote: Sat Mar 21, 2026 11:48 am Cherry Audio's signal flow is often: Announcement> Speculation> Anticipation> Disappointment (when it's not what we were expecting)> It Sounds Nothing Like the Original >Apathy or Purchase.
Another glass of tap water in a market full of fine wines. But hey they're making money and I guess that's all that counts.
I'm just happy there is one less crappy synth they can emulate and hopefully some day they'll do something that is actually exciting.
EDIT: While calling this a "digital synth" may be technically correct I think it's a bit of a stretch since it still has the same old four analog waveforms and for the love of god Cherry Audio hire a graphics designer that can do something that isn't fuzzy and of a quality from 2006.

I won't buy Zebra 3 (too high on cpu), won't buy Sway (too bad quality and a lot of better options) and now I won't even demo CA.
Well, CA has released some great synths, though and Zebra2 is still great, nevertheless would like to see some more (good) Yamaha emus to be released, but pls no DX7, Dexed already exists for many years.
Great, more money in my pocket! haha
Keep on releasing CA, but pls don't become another AA!

So good to know. Thanks for sharing.SAGG wrote: Tue Mar 31, 2026 5:16 pm This instead of full-on 12 DCO six-voice Crumar BIT series? Pass. BIT would be a great opportunity to somewhat replace missing ITB Matrix-6, to some degree.
So basically about the same as Siel Cruise, a mono synth with a poly string section, just two OSC to that mono bit instead of one with Siel. And why is this a total riot the whole town was alarmed about?
My money goes to TAL and Swayed, and if I want cherries, I have a bunch of them in my freezer, thanks heaps, eh![]()

You probably wouldn't like the hardware either. I love it. This synth has a unique sound to it. I wouldn't expect people who didn't grow up with Crumar stuff like I did to understand. Their orchestrator still had the best brass section at the time.

What's going on? So many new bad releases right now? Well, Zebra3 is an exception, if your machine can handle cpu. We have a lot of options anyway, so no need to complain. I think CA should create a new softsynth, no emu, that is what they can do best.

My first synth was a Crumar Orchestrator and yeah back in 1980 it sounded like the voice of god but now in 2026? It's the worst sounding synth I've ever owned.wagtunes wrote: Tue Mar 31, 2026 5:45 pm You probably wouldn't like the hardware either. I love it. This synth has a unique sound to it. Some things should be left to rust on the junk heap of history but I realize that Cherry Audio is for the most part in the business of selling nostalgia.

Nothing says "market saturation" like three new synths dropping on the same day....

It all depends on what you're trying to accomplish. If it's "the best sounding stuff on the planet" you're after, then yes, some things just aren't going to cut it.Teksonik wrote: Tue Mar 31, 2026 5:52 pmMy first synth was a Crumar Orchestrator and yeah back in 1980 it sounded like the voice of god but now in 2026? But if you're trying to recreate something, for whatever reason, some things can't be duplicated.
I can't give you a better example than this. I did this for a song contest where you had to recreate old recording conditions where you only had 8 tracks to work with and had to bounce tracks and then mix down to 2 track tape.
This is what I came up with. It sounds like crap, next to today's standards, but I nailed it and may very well win this contest.

Again, depends on what you're using whatever you're using it for.
