Year in Software 2026 (what you've bought in 2026)

Light year for me so far. Nexus 5 has mostly killed my appetite for new synths. So just a couple of newly released FX units in 2026:
Grit Blender
Buzz Cut
Only thing I'm eyeballing right now is mastering tools. Specifically, upgrading Ozone, the new Natural Audio AL-1 limiter, and perhaps a high frequency limiter like HiFAL or Limen.
If we're expanding the scope of the thread to non-synth hardware, I'm listening to a newly purchased pair of Mesanovic CDM65s in cardioid mode as I type this. Absolutely stellar midfield monitors for the price. Shockingly good low frequency response and phase coherence for speakers this small.

Definitely pick up the AL-1 Limiter. I know it's expensive but it's easily the most transparent limiter I've used; it also does an incredible job of preserving the low end and transients. Most recent plugin I've purchased and couldn't be happier.billinder33 wrote: Thu Apr 02, 2026 1:32 pm Light year for me so far. Nexus 5 has mostly killed my appetite for new synths. Also HiFAL is pretty incredible as well; I'd recommend picking up both if you can.

How does Swayed compare to your hardware? Have been very tempted to add it to the collection.DCrown wrote: Thu Apr 02, 2026 11:58 am BF-2 plugin, tempted to buy Swayed, but I probably won't, cuz I have Yamaha hardware synths.
Not going to buy any plugin any more,
I have more than enough
Frankly speaking Atlas, Avenger and Xpand2 and Waves Horizon is all I need. BF-2 is cool, though, one of my best purchases ever, I will use it on everything and on every track.

So far the only thing I've bought is Love 2 upgrade and Roland CR-78.
This is the year I downsize my plugin collection I swear...

Swayed is a great synth, but frankly speaking my hardware I like more, won't buy any plugin any more, I have more than enough, Yamaha is always tempting, have reached the peak (of plugin purchases) after release of BF-2 plugin, waited so long for someone to release it.noahrbc wrote: Thu Apr 02, 2026 9:57 pmHow does Swayed compare to your hardware? If you have some DX7 and CS80 emu and no more Yamaha, I highly recommend Swayed, just demo it.
I am going to focus more on hardware in future.
