You need to change this. The app should automatically detect only the changes upon startup. I update my plugins as soon as new versions are released..sometimes daily. This means that to keep everything updated in the app, I have to repeat the full scan process every single time. This is not a good user experienceMidifex wrote: Thu Apr 02, 2026 10:57 pmPlugoff caches your scan results, so when you open the app it loads your plugins from the previous scan automatically. You should only need to hit Scan if you installed new plugins.asstudioton wrote: Thu Apr 02, 2026 10:11 pm Why doesn't this app automatically recognize new installed plugins and update changes on startup? I have to manually click 'scan' every time, and it rescans everything from scratch. Since I have a large number of plugins, it takes quite a while every time.
If your plugin list isn't showing up when you reopen the app, let me know and I can look into it.

Plugoff just moves the dll's so they won't show up in your hosts anymore. That really is all this sw does.Uncle E wrote: Thu Apr 02, 2026 10:09 pm Acustica plugins leave a bunch of files behind. Not your fault but you might want to address it.
Plugoff doesn't delete or uninstall anything. It doesn't find anything that you have in your Documents or Program Data folders, it doesn't find registry items, it doesn't find presets. You need other software for that, like dedicated uninstall sw (i can recommend Revo Uninstaller).
And to this devs defense, for removing Acustica stuff you need to be an expert really. I don't think there's anything that any third party sw can do about their mess
Btw : If you want to save a lot of space used by AA, then manually delete unused samplerates. Use your OS search function for that.

If you just want to remove unused AAX versions then go to Program files/common files/Avid and delete everything in there. Much faster than using Plugoff. And it really deletes everything, unlike Plugoff.skyscape wrote: Fri Apr 03, 2026 12:19 am This is great, got rid of all those annoying AAX plugins. I like the data visualisation too. Very nice indeed.

That to me is its big advantage, I have a ton of disk space (although it did!), I just wanted less clutter in my DAW (and faster scanning times) and the ability to bring things back (one click) if I suddenly find I do need something I have offloaded. Its perfect for what I wanted and its free, cant be better than that!
X32 and 24C mixers, S88MK3, Live + PUSH 3, Osmose, RedShift 6, Pro3, S4, Tempera, Syntakt, Digitone, OP1-F, OPXY, TR-1000, Eurorack, TD27 Drums, Guitars, Basses, Amps and of course lots of pedals!

I think this is great - it doesn't just delete the plugins but also keeps a record so it can restore them. Plus it gives me a useful overview of everything I have. It's not an uninstaller app so won't delete associated files or even folders but I think that is fine, if it was it would get much more complicated when it comes to if you want to restore something. For me the scan is super fast - much faster than some of my hosts and a lot faster than most disk space scanners.

Great question! Registration lets us notify you of updates and new features — it's a one-time setup and we don't share your email with anyone. You can also sign up with Google, Apple, or Microsoft if you'd prefer not to use your email directly. After registering, Plugoff works entirely offline — no internet connection is needed, and we don't collect or transmit any data about your plugins.Lbdunequest wrote: Sat Apr 04, 2026 6:35 pm thank you! but why do you need to have our email adresses?![]()

Plugoff 1.1.0 is out now — free update for Mac and Windows.
This is a big one. Custom plugin folders, editable categories, plugin notes, CLAP format support, and a redesigned Insights dashboard.
You can now scan plugins from any directory, not just the defaults. Categories are fully editable — click to change, search, or add your own. And you can attach notes to any plugin for reminders or project associations.
Also improved: naming detection, keyword matching, UAD/UADx plugin detection, manufacturer coverage, and CSV export.
Thanks to everyone who's posted suggestions, improvement ideas, and bug reports in this thread — a lot of what's in this update came directly from your feedback. Keep it coming — nicely and constructively always helps!

Some strange thing happened. After installing your software my google chrome on Windows 11 pc out of nowhere logged out and had all cookies cleared. I had nothing new installed besides your software. A bit hard to believe its a coincidence as this never happened in a decade. Maybe some bug?
Happy Easter

KVRs own Plugin Manager already does that I think...RichN wrote: Sun Apr 05, 2026 12:32 pm I would really like for this to keep track of plugin updates. Would be glad to pay for a feature like that.

Yeah, I should give that one a try. Thanks for remembering me. I miss Macupdater Pro. That one took care of the updates too. Very convenient.SLiC wrote: Sun Apr 05, 2026 12:41 pmKVRs own Plugin Manager already does that I think...RichN wrote: Sun Apr 05, 2026 12:32 pm I would really like for this to keep track of plugin updates.
