Thanks. I figured it out. Some of the sysex files I have give a message "no voice data" I assume they must be empty?

The manual answers these questions:wagtunes wrote: Sat Apr 04, 2026 8:11 pm Okay, I figured it out. I assume you can only have 1 sysex file in memory at a time. So if you want to use the presets from a different one you have to load that file in. Is there a way to save these presets so that I don't have to keep swapping sysex files?
"If you like the entire bank you can choose to convert it to a preset bank to add to your library, or you could save individual patches as presets. To save an individual patch, click it to load it, then go to the preset tab and select SAVE AS."
Importing a SYX file gets the data in. Then you can save it in the native Swayed way so you can access each bank without having to re-import them. This is pretty standard procedure with importing sysex files to any plugin that supports this.
It means the file you are trying to import does not contain voice data.wagtunes wrote: Sat Apr 04, 2026 8:16 pm Some of the sysex files I have give a message "no voice data"

Thanks. I have never worked with sysex files before. Never felt the need to.beely wrote: Sat Apr 04, 2026 8:16 pmThe manual answers these questions:wagtunes wrote: Sat Apr 04, 2026 8:11 pm Okay, I figured it out. It's always good to learn new stuff.
For Sheaf: There seems to be some buggy behaviour in the Rock/Pop data - playing some of the early presets, like the organ, kills the audio output after a few seconds, until you select a different patch. It's either a bug, or possibly a problem with the data...
Also, the Drum Kit editor could be a bit slicker. The RY30/RM50 cards have their samples stored an octave up for space reasons, so you need to shift each PCM sample down an octave for the correct playback. It would be nice to be able to shift-select multiple notes and drag them all down together, for example, than going one by one...
(Or even better, do this automatically for those Yamaha cards, as they are all in this format).

Yes it is. Last question. If I create a bunch of presets, I assume I can create my own sysex bank that I can share with others?beely wrote: Sat Apr 04, 2026 8:19 pm It's always good to learn new stuff.

You can just share the presets in Swayed native format and keep all their data. But there is a "Save" button at the foot of the SYSEX page which saves a SYX file, so it should be easy enough to see, if you want to export a SYX file to load into the hardware SY/TG units.

Said it before and I will say it again, there really is no need to download and try to install Yamaha's IP you don't own or have permission to use from potentially shady places online
You have a wealth of legal waveforms and samples included with SWAYED that are so close it doesn't matter. As a very long term user of SY77, I am blown away by how good of a job Sheaf did with the sample library
I think people have this incorrect idea that if your get SWAYED the first thing you need to do is find the samples online somewhere and install them like it's one of the emulators from The Usual Suspects that needs a ROM to work
You simply don't. As it exists and comes it has an amazing sample library that serves the exact same purpose as the Yamaha factory library and accomplishes the exact same things
Beyond that just have a bit of patience and you will easily be able to import whatever sample you want in a short while from now
The Yamaha SY77 samples were not all that great in 1989 and 1990 and they really have not aged well in the ensuing 36 years

Step 1
Call up the preset manager by clicking the cabinet icon.
Step 2
Go to the SYSEX Tab.
Step 3 and 4
Load the SYSEX bank and Make Preset Bank.
You don't need to assign a Wave ROM Card. Because SWAYED's Wave ROM data got assigned automatically.
Step 5
Go to the Preset Tab and double click 1st Preset.
Step 6
Leave the Preset Manager by clicking the X-icon.
Done. Now your new imported Preset/SY77 Voice bank is active.
You do not have the required permissions to view the files attached to this post.

I think I found a bug.
Go to the algo rhythm screen. Click anywhere in the routing matrix area and the sound gets muted. You have to switch algo to unmute the sound.

MCMorrise wrote: Wed Apr 01, 2026 8:24 am Excellent work, sheaf. You got SUPER close to the SY77 wave ROM with most of the sounds you curated. It's hard to tell a difference switching between "PRESET" and "PRESET 77" waves while going through the factory presets. This is on my to-buy list for sure.
My only wants and wishes are for (1) a global reverb bypass on the GUI and (2) not having to reload my DAW once I've copied waveform ROMs into the folder. Would be nice if there were a manual rescan option.
On that note: is Swayed compatible with RY-30 ROMs as well? My understanding is the hardware works with RY-30 cards but I wanted to check rather than break anything.
Also, I've sent a bug report about patches being silent and the volume knob displaying "NaN" at random times. I can't seem to reliably replicate it; sorry about that!

Thanks, I'll put those features on the list.j.clay wrote: Sat Apr 04, 2026 3:10 pm I have been playing around with swayed almost the whole day. It feels like the real deal. Very playable; as frag put it, it plays like a real musical instruments.
Two wishes for future updates:
- ability to change presets in the librarian with cursor keys
- midi learn
Thanks, happens for me too with a double click. I will fix it.wagtunes wrote: Sun Apr 05, 2026 3:16 am I think I found a bug.

I've implemented the reverb bypass yesterday. Reloading waveforms is a bit more involved, and will come with the 1.1 release that features the custom sample card creator. But before 1.1, I want to release a 1.0.1 with bugfixes that address the most urgent issues.MCMorrise wrote: Sun Apr 05, 2026 3:58 am Excellent work, sheaf. My main focus right now is to get rid of that NaN bug. I found out why the Panic button was not helping with it, so that's sorted out at least, but of course I want to prevent it from even happening in the first place. I'm running a special build that logs more diagnostic information for me if it should occur, but since the 1.0 build it hasn't even happened once for me. I get the impression that for some users it happens quite regularly though.
Question for people who see the NaN bug: is it true for you that it only happens shortly after selecting a new preset? Like, within the first 4, 8 or 16 notes (depending on polyphony) you play after selecting a new preset? Or have you seen it later too?

Concerning the NaN bug: In my case it happened quite regularly in the DEMO, but now I've been using the full version for about 3-4 days and it has never happened again.

Why do you want to do that?Load the SYSEX bank from your drive and then ...
IMPORTANT! - Choose CARD (Swayed Expansion 1) and then ...
surely the sysex files that you load are going to use the factory waveforms (the swayed ones in this case) - so just leave this section alone.
The expansion card waveforms are different from the factory ones - and there won't be many sysex dumps out there that were created with the Swayed expansion card
