Just wanted to say Hi! I have been producing for many years and recently I've been getting really good results looking to share my music. I only use VST's to make my tracks, I mainly focus on creating melodic loops. Recently, I've been using Serum 1 a lot and I am impressed with the results I am getting. Check out my page and leave some feedback.

There are some good, little melodic moments in this without a doubt, but for me the overall groove just doesn't quite work yet...all the different layers don't quite sync together 100% successfully.

Well, everyone can see the Orion Nebula in the night sky during
winter. So what did you make of it?
The track is fast, groovy, exciting, synth-based - EDM in the best
sense. For my taste, the amount of reverb is a bit too high - but
that's a matter of taste.
Overall: Well done, brilliant track!

Thanks for the feedback. I am always trying to find better ways to blend all my layers together, it starts with perfect layers. I personally prefer more reverb, it gives the sound a nice release and some dimensional body. I even use reverb on some of my basslines, you just need a nice bandpass filter to get the reverb to sit nicely into the mix. It started with a nice stereo spread on the mid and upper frequencies.
I originally wanted to just go with Orion, but decided to add Nebula after it.

Not too bad, there's some variation going on. But what I would say is: it would benefit with a bit of sidechaining to the kick, and the layers are a little too loud and there's a bit too much high-end. Good track though.chaotic_productions87 wrote: Wed Mar 25, 2026 5:48 pm Just wanted to say Hi! I completely forgot to clean up my sidechain. I usually start with a simple sidechain then tweak it using my ears. Sidechaining is important when you have multiple loops playing at the same time, its mainly used to clean up the kick and bass, when both the kick and the bass notes play at the same time. There are two types of sidechaining, first is through a compressor and the second is using volume automation (LFO Tool). First option is more organic and the second option is more mechanical, both work. The key is when the kick transient hits, the bass volume should be zero and as the kick fades out the bass fades in. That way even though the kick and bass are played at the same time, the bass ducks (plays at a lower volume) when the kick hits and once the kick ends the bass is at full volume. You can get creative and use side chaining when layering a arp with some atmosphere drone or pads. Where the atmosphere volume goes down a bit every time a note from the arp plays, this is fast paced sidechaining and the volume of the atmosphere never goes to zero, it ducks to about 25% and then back up to 100% volume. It gives the arp room to breather while maintaining the body of the atmosphere.

I use volume automation as well, so I understand. But the high-end is a bit harsh, so I recommend fixing that. and the master is a little too loud, so I recommend turning it down a little. (maybe it's just me, but that's my 2 cents)chaotic_productions87 wrote: Wed Apr 29, 2026 2:59 pm I completely forgot to clean up my sidechain. I agree, everyone tells me that I need to balance out the frequences, focusing on the upper frequencies. If I take out the high end noise and fix the volume level, the song sounds like elevator music to me. I am always trying to get a high end sound but without the harshness. It make the loops sound more modern and digital. Its an on going struggle.

I did say that it could just be my headphones.chaotic_productions87 wrote: Wed Apr 29, 2026 4:00 pm I agree, everyone tells me that I need to balance out the frequences, focusing on the upper frequencies.
