Hi everyone,

I’ve been developing an experimental guitar dynamics processor called SOL-2 Guitar Dynamics Shaper, focused on clean, transparent control and precise attack shaping, and I’m looking for some beta testers.

Image

It started as a guitar compressor, but evolved into a more flexible dynamics shaping tool. It separates transient and sustain processing, allowing you to shape pick attack and body independently. It’s especially useful for tightening rhythm guitar and preserving pick attack clarity.

Key features:
  • Independent transient and sustain control
  • Tone shaping via Focus / Tilt (transient-aware)
  • Clean master section (Clear Mid / HPF / LPF)
  • Designed for precise, detailed control (not “set & forget”)
Format: Windows VST3 only (Mac AU/VST3 is not available at the moment).

Currently, this is an unreleased prototype. If it gets a good response, I may polish it up for a very affordable release later on (around $15), but for now I’d really appreciate honest feedback on the workflow and sound.

I didn’t include audio demos on purpose — I’m curious how different people approach it and what they get out of it.

If you’re on Windows and interested in testing it, just reply here or send me a PM — I’ll share the file.

Just a heads up: I’m based in Japan, so replies might be slightly delayed depending on your time zone.

Thanks!

Just to add — I’m especially curious how it compares to your usual guitar compressors or transient shapers.

Just a quick update:

I’ve added Undo/Redo and updated the build — it already feels much better to tweak now.

If anyone is interested in testing the latest version, feel free to reach out.

Just added a new Advanced EQ section:
  • Can be used both as a normal EQ and a sidechain EQ
  • Built-in analyzer for visual feedback
  • Switchable between SC / Output monitoring

This actually made it much easier to dial in precise transient control — especially for clean and rhythm guitar tones, and to shape subtle nuances in the tone. It also works nicely on bass.
