yea I got it but it was funny :)
I think Samplitude was/is popular in Europe and not so much outside.
But your perception perfectly shows how bad Magix marketing was and why Magix is where it is now. I hope that BorisFX will do a better job with their new acquisitions.

I think you need to learn to differ between opinions and facts - you're mixing both up quite funnily in this thread.

Sequoia is to Samplitude what Nuendo is to Cubase. (I.e. it's basically the same program with certain additional functionality that's leaning towards post-production, broadcasting and mastering.)

As I try to avoid making accounts I bought Sound Forge from Magix without making one. Which, if I am not mistaken, is an option that European online sellers are required to offer. So I wonder how BorisFX is going to transfer my license. :?
When BorisFx first bought Samplitude, they required you to drop a mail with your Magix serial, but maybe they'll handle this differently this time. I see the Samplitude upgrade path that was supposed to be time limited is still available, so they obviously changed their mind.

No they haven't. I'm not sure they have ever developed anything of their own. I think they are more like WA Productions/Plugin Alliance/United Plugins, in that they buy or license products other people have developed. In the VFX industry they are a competitor to Red Giant, who do the same thing.

I've been using Boris stuff for decades at work but I've never bought anything of theirs.

...
Interesting.

Back in the noughts I used the BorisFX, Blue, Red, and Continuum packages (along with Red Giant stuff) with After Effects for VFX projects. Not quite up to GenArts Sapphire's level at the time, but pretty capable for that era.

Q: I purchased Vegas Pro, Sound Forge, or Acid Pro from MAGIX. What happens to my lifetime license?

A: Your license is still valid. Create or sign in to your Boris FX account using the same email from your original purchase, and your license will show in your account. From there, you can purchase an upgrade to the latest version with Boris FX licensing and support.
I created an account and nothing shows up. Can't these things ever go smooth? :(

P.S. I hate subscriptions so I will not upgrade. I just want to continue using the version I have. Especially once I get a new PC.
This is complete BS, 1000s of dollars of licences are in my magix account, and Boris show very little interest moving any of them to Boris.
Duh

:tu:

Sound Forge is great for editing the ACID properties and I haven't found anything better...

I use SF Pro 15 and it works fine....

Even the earlier versions I had - 10 and 12 - worked perfectly...

We get to know the shortcuts and after that,it's all second nature...

But I have been checking out the Alpha release of Audacity 4 and that program is starting to build momentum
No auto tune...

Update: Something is showing up in my BorisFX account now but not quite what I expected...

My upgrade order for Sound Forge 16 is there but has the status "unpaid" which is a total lie! And there is nothing under my licenses. :-x What a mess!

No, I'm not. Magix has been in the toilet for years, acquired by one private equity firm after another, with a bankruptcy filing along the way. Those are facts. Now it seems the current owners are going to strip it of anything they can find a buyer for and be done with it. That, by the way, is an observation, not an opinion.

You know they acquired GenArts a while ago an now sell Sapphire under the BorisFX banner. I don't think there has been any development of them since the acquisition.

Yup, and Maxon bought Red Giant. It might be time to start taking bets on whether Autodesk or Adobe buys the whole bunch.

Anyone who can make you believe absurdities can make you commit atrocities.

Magix probably bought all these product rights way too expensive it seems
- a couple of bankrupcies later BorisFX might have a better chance buying dirt cheap
