Hi all,

I'm a solo developer and musician, and like a lot of people here I've spent way too many hours scrolling through hundreds of presets trying to find one that sounds like a synth I heard in a track.

Sonaura Match is a web app I built that finds synthesizer presets by sound similarity. You upload or record a short audio sample and it returns the closest-matching presets from a database of sampled patches, ranked by how similar they sound (think Shazam for synths).

It runs entirely in the browser, no install needed. You can upload a WAV or record directly from your mic (even on your phone). There's a waveform trimmer to select the best portion of your sample, a few different matching models depending on whether you're chasing a stable tone, an evolving pad, a plucky transient, or something more general, and an ensemble mode to blend models together.

The database currently has around 10,000 presets indexed and is growing. The Library page shows everything that's in there now.

It's free to use during this early access period while I build it out - sonaura.au/match

I'd genuinely love to hear what you think: whether the results are useful, what synths you'd most want to see added, what's confusing or missing, anything. This is exactly the community I built it for and your feedback would mean a lot.

Thanks for taking a look.
Tony
