“I Want You Back” feat. BellaK (video)

My latest collab with BellaK. The music was originally written a few years ago for another singer, but she never finished it, so I eventually asked Bella and she nailed it, as usual. We recorded the vocals in one session, then recorded the video footage a week later, and I spent the last week finishing the video in DaVinci Resolve. Just sharing, not looking for feedback, but hope you enjoy it.

Try listening to the track without the visuals then? The mix is top notch, everything is working in my opinion. Ear and eye candy to some.

After the first 30 seconds I thought it sounds like something I heard a thousand times before, more or less exactly the same.
Oh holy mother, who cares about quality of mix???
In music back in the day it was about good, creative songs,
it doesn't even have a bridge, not going to mention the lyrics, it will make it even worse.
From beginning to end the same repetetive pattern, it really deserves an award for arrangement skills.
So you like it, because the overpolished mix sounds good to you,
ok, why not...

Very nice song - good video!

It is very pleasing - clearly audible, and the chorus melody "I want
you back" is catchy. It is of course "mass-marketable" - many will
like such a song and video. I can't understand the criticism, because
composing a song like that — let alone arranging and mixing it — isn't
easy. And making a song so pleasing, that's precisely where the art
lies.

I also like more experimental music, but I see such music – whether
ambient, techno, EDM, hip hop, classic or xy – as a different genre.
With its own unique musical foundation.

So back to the cyrophonic-belaK-pop song: Wonderfully done, very
pleasing, I enjoy this song very much too!

Nice one, reminds me a bit of Kyle Minogue's tunes. Sounds very polished and professional too!

I rarely venture into the cafe, but pleased I did. Quality mix, I wish I could get that kind of clarity. Catchy hook and extremely well recorded vocals. TBH it kinda rams home to me that there's a skill in mixing, it's not just matching up numbers. I've been diddling around for decades and never been able to get this kind of clarity, probably never will despite mixing it up all different kinds of ways. Definitely pro quality IMO.

As a side note I've finally muted DCrown - do you have to be such an obnoxious c**t all of the time?

Not my preferred musical genre in the least, but I can appreciate good songwriting, performance, and production, regardless. This is like a real song, which is rare around these parts. Nicely done.
