A new sampler? How many samplers do you need? No other DAW has as many samplers as Reason.
I was certainly thinking more about a redesign of the NNXT, as mentioned above.
Well good then - had you said "an improved NN-XT" rather that "a new sampler" to begin with, I'd have agreed with you. :tu:

Or you could have held your tongue. We all knew what he meant.
There are two kinds of people in the world. And you're not one of them.

Interesting! I think maybe Clip launch will come later on. That would be ace. I would love if there would be a demo of the DAW though.

I actually think that this was where RS were headed already; the signs were there. They were pretty replete on their truly important basics and were moving to the small but often useful extras. Overall from the page and vid, it seems good.

Personally not so happy to see a dark default as that may signal that moving forward the classic light gets abandoned. I am not a fan of dark workspace, pretty they may look but, FOR ME, usability suffers. If they truly honor both and not leave light mode as a clunky-looking mess, no dramas.

Folders and the new track panel seem good as they a) don't have to intrude and b) can turn off.

The one thing I really wonder over tho is the new Reverb being put in the raiment of a Player. That is just confusing. Yes it looks clean, but it also looks like a Player which breaks the code.

Still, seems like an interesting update so, eager to play - in a month.

I don't think - and certainly don't hope - that there is any Reason to fear that.

This update was certainly well underway before Landr came along.

There's now a "Rack per Track" setting, on by default. So the rack opens in a separate window and only shows the devices of that track, which I guess prevents cabling between tracks?. I was hoping they'd make the Rack plugin more modular with midi routing, instead they're letting you make the daw version less modular. Well at least it's optional.

I don't think that'll be the case. Keep in mind that cables are already completely optional in Reason - personally I never use them and would even go as far as calling them a UI-gimmick. So there is no reason to assume that inter-track connections won't be possible from within a per-track rack.

(Whoever likes virtual cables in software most probably has relatively rarely to deal with them in the physical world.)

Absolutely love what i've seen so far. Still hoping to be able to zoom the rack separately from the sequencer.

I'm pretty sure "Rack per Track" is just giving each track a separate rack column. It should still be possible to cable between columns, maybe if you disable that "single column" toggle that's in some of the videos:

Yes, but as I said (maybe I wasn't clear enough): you can already make all the same connections in Reason without ever needing to use/touch/see a cable and without the source or destination you're routing from/to being visible. (It's been possible for ages.)
