The Tracker "VS" Regular Daw thread

I found out this week that someone's been working a FastTracker II VST3. Only given it a quick play but hopefully it'll develop into something really useful for us folks that never really got on with our piano-rolls in our DAWs:

Yep, was fun to follow Juho working on it while commenting it on IRC and testing it
I used to use pt-clone, but now I use A1200 with real Protracker

Nothing new under the sun... Sample swapping in a tracker is just changing instrument ## with every note... One's like SVArTracker can change program ## on any line/note so one can use a full SF2 bank in the anti-wave sampler & change between any instrument ## on any line/note, Since all samples in bank are in RAM there's no hesitation...

SVArTracker also has multi-temporal patterns...

Skale Tracker also has envelope swapping in where everytime one hits note again of any sample in the instrument you can switch envelopes to next one of 8 possibles then it recycles so each note sounds a bit different-



The VSTi version of Skale works in plenty of hosts as long as they have plugin tempo sync so all control is from host... Then one can compose in both Skale and/or host-



Also plenty of combo tracker/piano rollers been made like

-Frinika (Poor choice)
-Psycle (Newest version with LUA piano roll, unstable as hell)
