Much love for this drum synth — you can create full songs using just this thing. Awesome!

I believe they are small crew, only two of them I think. However, they are also working together with BT and the SonicLabs brand, the guys who produced MicDrop. Between developing software for UA and SL as well as any other commitments they may have, their upgrade process seems to be quite slow somewhat.
Which is a pity as it can tend to be a bit frustrating.

This from 27 days ago on Elektronauts.
"1.5.0 is in active development. Patterns are far along. We just implemented a new preset browser that adds tagging, favorites, filters, ratings, etc. that will make its way to the other iOS-compatible plugins (Bass Mint on forward). MIDI Out is in this update as well."

Okay, Battalion is quite brilliant. Initially struggled with it. Came back to it after a handful of weeks, and wow!
What got it going for me this time around:
-brought in my own samples, moved the layer slider to only feature the samples
-for patch creation, targeted the use of the lock function in combination with the voice dice randomizer
-for further patch creation, targeted use of the perform page with the enable switch
-for patterns, focus on just one pattern, to be exported to a slicer
-embraced the unconventional sequencer, focusing mainly on fill count to choose which sound dominates the pattern (which can blossom once exported to slicer)
Can get some great stuff going!
So easy to change it up with this method too. Part of my initial struggle was trying to wrap my head around it all, and the sequencer was throwing me off as well. Whole thing feels more like a rhythmic synth/sample machine than drum machine, where you sort of steer sounds through it.

I've actually had a few issues with it. I've actually been waiting for this latest v1.2.0 release before I started using it again.

Hello, I am struggling with using velocity to modulate sample or synth amplitude, I mod voice volume, but sometimes I get a usable result and sometimes I get a normal full volume hit and clicky sound. I'm a bit stumped, any ideas?
Edit: I have found the source of the problem, AKA I am an idiot, I was modulating the volume in the wrong direction on the one that made the clicky sound (which I think was clipping). Whoopsie

For those with a modular interest, it appears Battalion is coming to VCVrack and if you have the hardware available, will run in the 4ms Metamodule. Very psyched about that.
Tangled roots perplex her ways.

Late to the party but came to say that this is a brilliant VST once you get your head around it. Boatloads of nifty sounds to be eeked out and I Iove the flexibility of the sequencer.
Initially I was perplexed as to why there are no patterns, but I get it now - the performance controls allow for so much variation and happy accidents. I've mapped it up to a MIDI controller and am having a lot of fun with it.
I see it as complimentary to Drumcomputer, which is IMO more surgical, requiring a lot of twiddling to find the sweet spots. Battalion though I can load up and get something amazing going in a couple of minutes. Very inspiring!
Well done devs!
Would like to see MIDI out though (at least trigger and velocity), and make the distortion algos more aggressive.

Yea, I also have Drum Computer and Drumazon 2 and this is the new kid to the party.
I like the variation control and assignable modulation from ENV/velocity. It's going to get used a lot.
