eeek! i dont know if you have been following the progression of sampletank 1--> sampletank 2 but there are a ton of features in the newer version that came about because of suggestions made from the users. i know because i remember random things came up - like the demand for us to be able to pick our own colour for the ST window. and they did so much stuff to ST2! it's the mothership connection.Rellik wrote: so far I haven't really seen any indication that the IK dev team actually cares what we want...

Don't you get it? I'm complaining
none of what you're saying is getting through to me.
Actually, good points Squids and Mr. Tunes. I wasn't around for SampleTank 1, so I didn't see the updates for that (although that's a paid update so it doesn't really count), and I don't know what's in store for SampleTank 2 either. Hopefully not SampleTank 3
, that's all I have to say.
Yeah, didn't mean to be too hard on the developers. Maybe it's just that it's really a little infuriating being cut off from the devs in such an extreme manner. energyXT-styled development (where the dev is in contact with the citizens) is still not the norm, but honestly, it really should be! Just an extremely more satisfying experience for the community - and I don't know exactly whether it's much fun for jorgen or not, but if it were too hard on him I don't think he would take the feature requests as seriously as he does.
Can't wait for the new updates to be unveiled
maybe it'll respond to CC automation on render!!!

Adding scrolling is more complex than one might think. You guys are used to some PC-only plug-ins perhaps in just DXi or VSTi etc. But, considering that all IK plug-ins are for Mac and PC and in RTAS, VSTi, DXi, AU and sometimes also MAS, HTDM or even TDM (woops, slip there
) the features need to be universal across all platforms. With scroll for a plug-in you never know if the scroll function is already doing something in the HOST and what would happen? Also, will all platforms even allow this feature to work seemlessly?
I am just saying that it may still be possible but those are things that could possibly be road blocks. But, I don't know. Can you name some plug-ins that support every major platform and have scrolling of the sounds? I would like to use them as examples if I was going to see if this could be done.
Anyway, there are other ways to scroll through the sounds. You can assign keys on the keyboard to be your up and down arrows or you can just click the up and down arrows on the screen. You can also make banks of program changes to do it that way as well. But, I am always up for more convenience features too so... we'll see. In the meantime there are a lot more exciting developments to look forward to tomorrow!

Yes, although I don't think it supports ALL of the major platforms. Probably just VST and AU right?midinut wrote:Hypersonic allows scrolling ... but I rarely use it since ST2 & SS2 arrived (sucking up finished).
Anyway, maybe we'll see scrolling in ST2 after all if it is possible to do for all platforms. This would be because of requests IK receives, not because of forum posts.
