Our Windows PCs aren't designed for real-time audio processing. Default settings like USB power saving and core parking exist to conserve energy, but they can cause CPU spikes and audio dropouts — even on high-spec machines. Fixing this requires changing settings scattered across the registry, Device Manager, Control Panel, and BIOS. It's confusing and tedious.

After years of music production, live streaming, and hands-on PC setup work across countless systems, I was able to narrow down the settings that actually matter. And I built a program that applies them in just a few clicks.

What it covers:

Core Parking disable (auto-detects Intel vs AMD)

Power plan optimization (High Performance / Ultimate)

Advanced power settings (HDD timeout, sleep, USB selective suspend, PCIE link state, processor states)

USB controller power saving disable (scans all controllers/hubs)

Sound device exclusive mode management

Windows system sound control

Network adapter power management (EEE + NIC)

BIOS settings guide — auto-detects your motherboard manufacturer with direct link to BIOS download

Full system diagnostics with one-click apply/reset

English + Korean UI

Free. No ads, no telemetry, no installer — single exe. Windows 10/11.

Note: This is an early release, so code signing isn't applied yet. You may see a SmartScreen warning on download.

I hope this helps anyone just starting out with music production or streaming, anyone unfamiliar with Windows system settings, or anyone dealing with audio-related issues.

Would love to hear your feedback or suggestions for what to add next.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
v1.0.1 2026-04-01
Fixed sound device rename error
Fixed exclusive mode status on some devices
v1.0.0 2026-03-28
Initial release
Welcome @kvr ... Thank you for sharing your work with us. This makes a heap of tedious configurations easy to set it seems. Really nice.

Edit: does your tool allow access to settings something like Winhance does not offer?
It refuses description, allowing only the vague approach of adjectives: dark, light, raw, angelic. Who or what is making these noises? Where are they coming from and what do they point to? What kind of entity can leave such a troubling sonic remnant?

>Thanks! Vilm Care focuses on areas Winhance doesn't cover : per-device USB power management, network EEE control, sound exclusive mode, detailed power plan sub-settings and so on. It's specifically focusing on real-time audio/video production environments.

Benedict wrote: Tue Mar 31, 2026 5:32 am Just d'loading. Thanks

Hoping to find something that stops Chrome from meddling with Reason. All seems fine until rendering, when suddenly Reason gets lumpy and even stalls totally. Chrome can also steal MIDI Input if it is open when opening Reason. If I manage not to have any sort of audio usage while Reason is open, all seems fine. Check a vid on YooBoob or Facebalk and render is rumbled.
:-)
Hmm , I have heard about the chrome issue once, but can I get more info about your case?
Thanks

This is a vid of the issue in action over in a FB Group. You shouldn't need to sign in or anything. Just watch the cursor and mouse movement.

As I say it seems that if I use audio in Chrome whilst Reason is open or opening, Chrome seems to create this situation. At least that's the closest I can get to anything like a this and then that sequence.
:-)
Thank you for shaing your case. To be honest, this is a type of issues that I've never seen... Can I get some more infos?

Thank you for the update. It's a very handy tool.

v1.3.0 is out! I've been busy with some personal things lately, and this update was quite a challenge to develop. But I put my heart into it.
What's new:

CPU/GPU temperature monitoring
Internet speed testing
DPC latency measurement (Beta)

I hope many of you will give it a try and enjoy it. Feedback is always appreciated!

This is brilliant thank you

Post

Thanks so much for this!
Question:

Can I use it, with a PC that is already set up and running good..i.e. can I cause anything to not work after using this?
Thanks!
Have a Great day!!

I was in the same situation too, but it didn't cause any problems & on top of that, you can revert back the changes in case something starts to act abnormally.
