Never been particularly impressed by v1, unfortunately. Tried it forth and back.
But did reopen String Studio for myself recently btw, great stuff. (even despite probably cpu issues, what is leveled out especially if compare with some nowaday plugs eating).

You can get interesting feedback in V1.Dirtgrain wrote: Wed Apr 08, 2026 3:45 pm In the previous version, the feedback parameter is limited so that you can't go to crazy feedback territory. Is this version the same in that regard?

Ah - got you now! Yes, that would be just about what I'd be willing to pay in order to find out whether I'd end up actually using this V2.ThoughtExperiment wrote: Wed Apr 08, 2026 5:12 pmSorry, I could have been more clear: I meant half of the intro upgrade offer (i.e. 20 dollars) would've seemed more fair. To me. But I'm a Yorkshireman and I'm "careful"jens wrote: Wed Apr 08, 2026 11:34 amNot that I don't think it's still too high, but this actually is - exactly - a half-price upgrade. There is actually a range in the feedback control that shows you were it goes into infinite feedback. ie. It's definitely an improvement over the first one.
In a lot of ways it's an expanded version almost like a "deluxe" version.
The continuous model control is a good thing, the Q controls on the filter add a lot and the extra modulator and modulator types are great to have.
The biggest difference is the extra delay modes. That does expand it's usefulness a good bit particularly for creating more rhythmic effects.
I do think the previous criticisms of mix lock. more modulation destinations, scale quantization for the frequency of the modal filter, sidechain as well as module order would add a lot of value but as it stands it's surprisingly useful.

Same for me. I was probably not trying forth and back, but definitly good enough. Since this type of FX is ***exactly*** what i`m into.c_voltage wrote: Wed Apr 08, 2026 5:15 pm Never been particularly impressed by v1, unfortunately. Tried it forth and back.
This one here could just never give me what i expected it to be.
But i`ll try again with the V1 the coming days.

V2 has feedback problems in the 4-tap mode. Can cut out when the tap spacing is changed. I found it only worked reliably with a single tapkraster wrote: Wed Apr 08, 2026 6:49 pmThere is actually a range in the feedback control that shows you were it goes into infinite feedback. ie. Yeah, something's going on. it works the first time. Maybe it's having issues clearing its memory cache. I turn the delay time and feedback to minimum, wait a while and increase the delay time and it plays a repeat. This goes on for a while until eventually it stops. Then it works again.sandandpaint wrote: Wed Apr 08, 2026 7:31 pmV2 has feedback problems in the 4-tap mode. Can cut out when the tap spacing is changed. All prefers old v1 CP UI lol (me too), in princimple the same situation for other AAS plugs, wooden String Studio \ metallic-glass Lounge Lizard, even Ultra Analog (despite i never was a fan) in first version looked so distinctive fun that always wanted to grab it just because appearance.jobinho wrote: Sat Apr 11, 2026 2:38 pm AAS did a similar marginal upgrade with chromaphone, where they slapped two together — I actually preferred the older UI on that one.
The only It seems to me Multiphonics has most successful\nice UI in current collection. (btw a bit reminded old Ultra Analog UI, perhaps by some color "stochasticity")
AAS guys could have simply invested in changing textures (wood etc) resolution, maintaining the quality, but not changing the design. I'm almost certain this would have generated additional investment from users (incl. nostalgia factor). It all looked too cool to resist.
Change design was a marketing flaw imo.
(Sorry for offtop)
