I'm looking to get my son a stanalone piano style keyboard, but one that has built in sounds as well as the ability to play and record drum loops and maybe other accompanying parts like bass. Built in speakers is not required. Korg, Yamaha and Casio seem to have these but just not sure which models to look at. It is better if it's not super complicated to learn. And he has no interest in hooking it up to a computer or iPad DAW or computer.
My price range can go up to $650.
Thanks for any recommendations!
Looking for stand alone keyboard (around 61 keys) that has built in piano sounds and a built in multitrack recorder

Plain technical, feature wise, I would say AKAI MPC Key 61 is best match. But has a learning curve.

Thanks, this is over what I can spend and has much more connectivity that he wouldn't use. Looks nice though!Etienne1973 wrote: Sun Apr 12, 2026 1:37 am Plain technical, feature wise, I would say AKAI MPC Key 61 is best match. But has a learning curve.
