Zebra 3 Public Beta (final beta)

We're working on saving the spline based waveforms separately from the oscillator settings itself. We are *not* working on importing exported wavetables back into Zebra.
Zebra 3 can export Hive-compatible wavetables, because, quite obviously, with Zebralette 3 we are now offering that free editor for Hive wavetables that people have often asked for, and why would we throw that out from Zebra? It is the same oscillator, it can do the same things. Exporting Hive wavetables is one of those things - a small extra goodie we threw in there.
However, during this export a lot of information gets lost. Wavetables are plain stupid samples, while Zebra 3's internal format is full of mathematical parameters and relations. It is vector based after all, as opposed to sample based. Retrieving those parameters and information back from a wavetable file is impossible today, and probably a good research field for the next generation of AI after the next next generation of it, dunno. If one day it becomes feasible, we'll do it.
Until then, at some point in the future we'll add saving and loading those mathematical representations of single waveforms (we call them "Curves") and the whole lot of them (which we call "Curve Set"). Copy and Paste is possible today, as is saving them with the whole oscillator ("Module Preset" for Oscillators). Copy and Paste works across instances and even between Zebra 3 and Zebralette 3.

I noticed what appears to be a bug in the latest Beta. Trying to move the amount knob in Osc 2, 3, or 4 causes the display to jump to MSEG 1. Here's a video showing the issue:
Osc 3 Jump
Here's a video showing Osc 1 Not Jumping:
Osc 1 Not Jumping
Seems like the behavior would be consistent regardless of the OSC chosen.
EDIT: Forgot to mention the test was run on Windows 11 VST 3 version. Also tested on Win 10 CLAP version.
EDIT 2: Okay it happens with other Osc FX than just Sync and other Mods like the Mapper.
Here's a preset showing the issue in action. Try moving the amount knob to the left of the depth knob in Osc 2 FX 1. It jumps to the MSEG page. The value can still be adjusted if you grab the knob and keep turning even while the MSEG 1 tab is open.

Here's the u-he forum Zebra 3 bug thread... better to post there cause it might not be seen here.Teksonik wrote: Sat Apr 11, 2026 2:58 pm I noticed what appears to be a bug in the latest Beta. Yes the new UI is very comfortable on my eyes and a joy to work with although I see some are having issues with the contrast. I spent several hours with the new beta over the weekend and did not suffer any eye fatigue and found the signal flow to be very logical.
Anyway I want to bump this report as I've noticed it also happens with the Curve Morph knob even in Osc 1. Since I can't see any logical reason why turning a knob would cause the view to jump to another tab I assume it's an issue with the new UI.
If someone wants to copy/paste the report in the bug thread at the U-he sub-forum that would be fine. I can read posts there but can not post.

So, the osc waveform morphing is linear?
Would be great to have the ability to morph from one shape to any of the others directly (a bit like 3d wavetable morphing). Not sure if its poissible to implement something like this. Just a suggestion but I would definitely use something like that.

It would make things very complicated.adash123 wrote: Mon Apr 13, 2026 2:10 pm So, the osc waveform morphing is linear?

Look, as a paying customer I don't mind testing your Public Beta but if I take the time out of my day to generate videos and a patch showing a potential bug then the least you could could is acknowledge the report. I'm just trying to help make Zebra 3 as bug free as possible.
I don't care what you think of me personally but be professional. All it would have taken is "we'll look into it".

It's been reported a couple of times, I lost track of where and whom I confirmed it to, we've looked into it, it is fixed afaik.Teksonik wrote: Mon Apr 13, 2026 3:10 pmLook, as a paying customer I don't mind testing your Public Beta but if I take the time out of my day to generate videos and a patch showing a potential bug then the least you could could is acknowledge the report. (I don't really do bug tracking myself, I guess my overworked guys didn't make it in the instruments forum lately...)
Btw. we have not figured out how to allow drag'n'drop .wav input from Waveform (if that is the name of that host), but it def works from FL Studio now.

You sound so professional with that whining tone and by flexing about your important time and contributions. You just had to go and be an ass about it, didn't you.Teksonik wrote: Mon Apr 13, 2026 3:10 pmLook, as a paying customer I don't mind testing your Public Beta but if I take the time out of my day to generate videos and a patch showing a potential bug then the least you could could is acknowledge the report.
