I was on a rent to own plan, and pleased to see that the spring discount applied to me as well.
For me this synth made fm approachable. As with all FM synths, the sweet spot of sounds is narrow, (in the wide range of fm noise), but Gost is the least painful to explore:) of all FM alternatives. So, happy customer here.

(Unfortunately even at the sale price it's still out of my price range at the moment.. but yeah, "sublime" is a good word to describe it. I do wish my wallet wasn't so thin! :hihi: )
If it's any consolation, my cat is blacker than yours in that I no longer have a wallet :D

I've seen the much more powerful F'em for sale as low as $39 in recent years.

Otherwise, if you just want a good FM library to tinker with, the one in Halion is great.

Had a go with the Demo:

has nice sounds. But:
- Fonts to small....and alots more. .....too small
- GUI to small. i couldn`t find a way to make it bigger within 30seconds. I clicked all the suspicious points.

- preset browser: i couldn`t advance presets with the QWERTY cursor keys. This one becomes more and more a "NO purchase" Factor for me

- all three together just made me delete the Demo after 5 minutes. (Good for me)

My opinion:
Access to what is there is key !
Some nice sounding presets is not enough in SW land. At least not for me.

Could be refined further to make it more atrractive. jm2c

edit: i`m on a 43" Display. 110cm distance while i`m playing. ( a 4K run on 2K, on mac)
"Plugin has turned Drug now"....and the business knows it.

When I demoed it (also a year ago I think) it had considerable aliasing. Dunno if that changed now. But surely I would never pay $149, that's just completely crazy.
In fact, I think some plugins should better be freeware.

FM synths tend to lean into aliasing unless the developer uses some magic fairy dust. I agree some plugins are better suited as freeware although I wouldn't put Ghost in that category.
The developer no doubt spent years on the project so 'buy me a coffee' may not have been adequate compensation for the time sacrifice?

Please check FM8 for a clean implementation. Surely no magic involved...

Checked it out, but it wasn't fun to program. The magic can sometimes come from imperfection?
