Hey everyone! We've just released Touched - shoegaze-in-a-box multi-FX.

The idea for this is that you have a single effect with everything you need for shoegaze. We could not find a digital effect like this on the market, so we built it :)

touched-screenshot.png
Three stages: fuzz, tremolo, and reverb. Each stage has true bypass. Switch the signal order to put reverb before fuzz, which is the key to classic shoegaze tone.

Unique dynamics-controlled tremolo mode simulates the "glide" effect, where the pitch bends in response to how hard you play, made popular by My Bloody Valentine. This is a pretty unique feature.

Fuzz is a dual-stage diode clipper with 4x oversampling. Inspired by Big Muff variants.
Reverb stage is built on stereo plate reverb, with soft focus, reverse, and shimmer modes. DSP is inspired by Yamaha FX500, Yamaha SPX90, and Alesis Midiverb II.
Tremolo simulates a guitar's tremolo bar with either time-based settings or the above-mentioned dynamics mode.

Reverb and Fuzz can switch places in the signal chain for a drastically different sound.

The whole pedal is heavily inspired by the music of My Bloody Valentine, and the Keeley Loomer pedal. Everything built by us from scratch.

Available as VST, CLAP, and AU for Mac, Windows, and Linux.

Audio demos are available on KVR as well as Gumroad.

Demo has all the functionality of the full version but there's a couple of seconds of noise every now and then.

There's also a "Lite" version coming soon which will be completely free but won't feature all of the modes available in the full version.

Does it support Linux? 🙂

(Also: I'm Accused of lying about Linux—it boots, runs my pro audio workflow, stays stable, updates--though yearly dismissed as “niche”. Yet I'm the deluded one.)

I thought the BOSS HM-2 was My Bloody Valentine’s “secret weapon” not the Big Muff.
THIS MUSIC HAS BEEN MIXED TO BE PLAYED LOUD SO TURN IT UP

Kevin Shields changes secret weapons as fast as his guitar tech finds new pedals for him to play with. :) However, he's most famous for misusing mundane gear in extreme, non-textbook ways (He's famous for doing Reverse reverb → fuzz → EQ → delay (wrong by studio standards, right for MBV))., so a lot of his "secret weapons" are not boutique oddities so much as misunderstood or new stuff that his guitar tech finds for him. :)

Some other "secret weapons" he has used over the years:

Alesis Midiverb II/III
Yamaha SPX90
Roger Mayer Octavia
The original Fender Blender from the 70s
Digitech PDS-Series
ProCo Turbo RAT
Boss GE-7
Boss PS-2, PS-3, PS-5

But I know that you already know most of this!

Actually, despite it being post-punk adjacent, I just could never get into shoegaze. Those bands all cite my favorite bands as their influences (one even taking their name from a song), but honestly I find the sound to be quite boring.

No worries! :) I have quite an open mind, and post-punk was my love before the various styles I'm into today. I'm ok if people don't like the same styles as I do. I, for example, am not huge into country as a style, although I do know and appreciate a few songs in the genre. Different strokes for different folks. :)

It's both, Kevin Shields used Big Muff, while HM-2 was used by Bilinda Butcher, the other guitarist.

By the way, what are your thoughts on some of these?

This last one is more of a Dream pop classic than shoegaze, but it's also the one that is closest to your preferred genre:
