Hi everyone,
Big update: After 5 months of intensive development, I’ve decided to release Texturium completely free and open to everyone.
The project started as a simple MIDI prompt generator aimed at creating orchestral arrangements via APIs. Over time it evolved into a fully playable MIDI orchestrator with much more musical control.
For understand how to configure Texturium see this video :

Here’s a quick visual timeline of how the interface developed:
Image
Early prototype – MIDI prompt generator stage
Image
Mid-development – shifting to a manual playable orchestrator
Image
Final version – current interface
I’m also making all previous versions available so you can see the complete development journey.
A key feature is the intelligent pattern arpeggiator that creates arpeggios while respecting the selected key and scale, intelligently snapping notes into the correct tonal positions.
Due to some unexpected challenges and circumstances I encountered with the project, I’ve chosen to make it free rather than pursuing a commercial path at this time.
If you try Texturium and find it useful, any kind donation would be greatly appreciated — these months have been all-consuming for me.
Download (all versions included):

Formats: VST3 / AU – Windows + macOS
Feel free to download and share your honest feedback, bug reports or ideas!
Thank you,
Damiano

Texturium is a real-time orchestral score engine and MIDI orchestrator plugin. Play a chord on your MIDI keyboard and Texturium instantly distributes notes across up to 16 orchestral instrument tracks using intelligent SATB voice leading — no sample libraries loaded inside the plugin, just pure MIDI orchestration routed to your favorite virtual instruments.

REAL-TIME ORCHESTRATION ENGINE.

Play chords and Texturium voices them across a full orchestra in real time. The engine uses advanced algorithms (Hungarian assignment, geometric voice leading, common-tone priority) to produce smooth, musically correct part writing — automatically avoiding parallel fifths, octaves, and voice crossing.

FULL ORCHESTRA Instrument ROSTER.

Strings (Violin 1 & 2, Viola, Cello, Double Bass), Woodwinds (Piccolo, Flute, Alto/Bass Flute, Oboe, Cor Anglais, Clarinet, Bass Clarinet, Bassoon, Contrabassoon), Brass (Trumpet, Horn, Trombone, Tenor/Bass Trombone, Cimbasso/Tuba), Percussion & Other (Timpani, Harp, Celesta) — plus fully customizable instruments with user-defined ranges.

CLIP-BASED SEQUENCER.

A built-in timeline grid lets you draw, select, resize, and delete MIDI clips. Snap-to-grid from 1/2 to 1/16 notes. Supports time signatures from 2/4 to 7/8. Drag & drop MIDI clips to and from your DAW.

PIANO ROLL EDITOR.

Full-featured piano roll with per-note velocity editing, CC1 (Modulation) and CC11 (Expression) automation lanes, and per-clip control flags (NoteVel, No CC, Mod>Vel, CC Hold).

KEY SWITCH SYSTEM.

Insert key switch notes directly in the piano roll to change articulations per instrument — staccato, spiccato, pizzicato, legato, tremolo, harmonics, and many more. Works seamlessly with sample libraries like Spitfire Audio.

CLIP BUILDER.

Drag & drop MIDI preset patterns from a built-in library into quarter-note slots to quickly assemble rhythmic and melodic patterns. Supports standard and triplet quantization.

ARPEGGIATOR (Standard & Pro).

Modes: Up, Down, Up/Down, Down/Up, Random, Custom Pattern. Configurable rate, gate, octave span (1–4), swing, and retrigger. Custom pattern editor with per-step voice and octave offsets (up to 32 steps). Pattern mode reads notes from track clips, transposed by the bass note.

SCALE LOCK (Standard & Pro).

Lock your performance to a scale — Major, Minor, Dorian, Phrygian, Lydian, Mixolydian, Locrian, Harmonic Minor, Melodic Minor — in all 12 keys. Notes are automatically corrected to the nearest scale degree.

GENERATE TEXTURE — Algorithmic Composition (Pro).

Automatically generate orchestral arrangements with control over Mood (Ambient, Neutral, Rhythmic, Dramatic), Shape (Flat, Rise, Fall, Arch, Wave), Density, 15 variation patterns, and seed-based deterministic generation. Includes automatic expression/modulation envelope and key switch generation.

MULTI-LOOP SYSTEM (up to 8 slots).

Store different arrangements in up to 8 loop slots — each with its own arpeggiator, voice register, mute/solo, legato, and octave settings. Switch between slots live for verse/chorus/bridge transitions.

GLOBAL LAYER SYNC — "Link" (Pro).

Synchronize loop slot changes across multiple Texturium instances in your session. Change all orchestral layers to the same section with a single click.

FLEXIBLE MIDI ROUTING.

Two routing modes: Virtual Ports (separate MIDI output per track via loopMIDI or CoreMIDI) or MIDI Channels (host output, each track on a separate channel). Up to 16 virtual MIDI ports.

PRESET SYSTEM.

Save and load complete plugin states. Browse presets by library, category, and instrument. Create custom instrument preset libraries with tailored ranges and key switch mappings.

TEMPLATES & SKINS.

Customize the look of Texturium with visual themes loaded from your AppData folder. UI Edit Mode (Pro) lets you rearrange layout positions.

4 EDITIONS.

DEMO — 4 tracks, 1 loop slot, strings only. Free.

LITE — 6 tracks, 2 loop slots, full orchestra, CC automation, key switches, presets.

STANDARD — 8 tracks, 4 loop slots, adds Scale Lock and Arpeggiator.

PRO — 16 tracks, 8 loop slots, adds Generate Texture, Global Link, Pattern Arpeggiator, UI Edit Mode.

Can you just add the price to your post please?

Or just reply to me here?

You seem very reluctant to reveal the price of your plugin..

You seem very reluctant to reveal the price of your plugin..
if you look at the website, you'll see that its a particularly complex and awkward pricing structure with 4 different tiers for the product, 3 of which are for-pay and rise base on the number of copies sold, rising at 100, then 1000 copies (with the free version disappearing after 100 copies sold as well). All presumably to foment that FOMO urgency. Price for the top tier ultimately gets to 300 bucks.

And yeah, plugin announcements (and product webpages) that hide pricing do suck.

Oh wow! That's why they're so reluctant.

Hi, thanks for the feedback — I understand your concerns.

The pricing structure is something I’m still refining during Early Access.

Just to give some context: this is a fully independent project I’ve been developing solo for a long time. I decided to move the release forward earlier than planned in order to start gathering real-world feedback and stabilize the product faster.

That also means some parts of the product (including pricing presentation) are still evolving.

I agree clarity is important, and I’ll improve how the tiers are communicated to make everything easier to understand at a glance.

TexturSphere is actively evolving based on early feedback, and this is exactly why I’m opening it at this stage.

Thanks again for taking the time to comment.

Just to clarify the context a bit: this is a fully independent project I’ve been building on my own for quite a long time. I originally planned to refine and polish everything further before releasing it, but I decided to move to Early Access earlier than intended so I could start getting real feedback from users and improve the product faster in real-world conditions.

Because of that, some parts of the product — including the pricing presentation — are still evolving and will be simplified and refined over time.

I agree that clarity is important, and I’ll work on making the structure easier to understand at a glance.

Thanks again for taking the time to share your thoughts.

Very weird pricing structure.

I'll wait until you decide on a price, before taking a look.
Thanks and all the best!

Sorry for the previous emotional post and for bringing personal matters into the thread.
I’ve decided to release Texturium completely free for everyone.
I’ve updated the first post of the thread with the new information, evolution screenshots, all previous versions and download link.
Thank you for your understanding, and sorry again for the noise.

This is my first project ever. I would have loved to have more time to properly manage everything — building a community, running a closed beta, and polishing the details. I’ve been working on this for 5 months, often without sleeping.
Unfortunately, today I discovered that another software very similar to mine has just been released. Because of this, I now have to speed things up and launch as quickly as possible. I’m really devastated right now.
This was supposed to be the project of my life. I poured my heart and soul into it for 5 months, often working without sleeping.
And now I see someone else releasing almost the exact same software, feature by feature. It feels like it’s being stolen right from under my nose.
I can’t believe it… it can’t just be a coincidence.
Hey, there's an issue with your site, where if you click on demo, the language changes and you cant get any further.

What's the product that you're saying is stealing from you?

That's brutal, and quit a big statement.

Post

you are right.

however now the language is fixed
