Hi KVR audio,I'm Thomas, the guy behind Tape It. I just released a VS/AU version and a standalone desktop app of the denoiser that a friend and I built a while ago: https://tape.it/denoiser (https://tape.it/denoiser)
It's basically like iZotope RX spectral denoise, except that it works automatically and can adapt to changing background noise - very valuable for things like unplugged concerts, for example, or in general longer recordings. You can either use the desktop app to denoise a file, or run the VST/AU plugin directly inside your DAW. The plugin needs a few seconds of warmup to analyze the audio file before it comes into effect, but that's only on the first playback - on subsequent playbacks it instantly kicks in. That's simply a limitation of the VST and AU standard I'm afraid - the plugin needs to see a bit more than just the current sample buffer to predict the background noise reliably.
There's a 50% launch discount right now, and you can download it first and run it in trial mode if you want to check it out before buying.
I'm running almost all my acoustic recordings through my denoiser these days - it's extremely unobtrusive, i.e. it never does anything it shouldn't do, super fast, and removes stationary background noise very reliably. Plus, it's easier to use than existing solutions. I hope that some of you will enjoy using the plugin as much as I enjoyed building it. You can get it at https://tape.it/denoiser (https://tape.it/denoiser)
