Thank you for considering that.

I can't get the scanner to work correctly and place my VST3's in the plugin manager. Maybe im missing something but it only shows BlueCat VST3's after doing a scan.

Post

Do you get any errors during scan? Do they appear in the plug-ins menu?

No errors during scan. AU looks to be showing up, but not VST3. Here are a couple pics if that helps. Im not sure what else to do. I can see it scanning through all the VST3's when i run it.

Huh that's really odd! Have you opened the scanned-vst3.txt file in the plug-ins cache? You can also try to delete the cache and rescan to force a complete scan in case there were issues during the first one.

I have cleared and rescanned the plugins. I can see them all getting scanned and they list in the associated text file. They just dont show in the plugin manager within Blue Cat. This is the latest version of Pro Tools on the latest version of Sonoma.

Have you tried to scan the plug-ins from the standalone app instead of from Pro Tools? Maybe there are problems caused by the fact that you are running Pro Tools, which may have some different security requirements on Mac. Have you also checked scanned.log file?

Clearing the cache and scanning from the standalone app worked, and they now show up in Pro Tools. So it must have something to do when scanning from the AAX plugin.

Indeed. I'll have to double check what is happening there. I know that it works fine from Pro Tools on Windows but I am not sure on Mac. Are you running an Intel or Apple Silicon Mac? Which MacOS?

This is an M1 Studio Max.

Thank you all for the feedback. A new preview is available!

What's New:
- New icon for the plug-ins manager (easier to view at lower resolutions).
- Scanned VST, VST3 & Audio Unit plug-ins now appear before built-in plug-ins in the list.
- Searching plug-ins (and presets) with multiple keywords (or wildcards), separated by a comma now looks for all keyaords instead of one (AND instead of OR).
- MacOS: fixed PatchWork not finding third party VST/VST3 plug-ins when scanner launched from the plug-in on Apple Silicon Macs.

Enjoy!

I can confirm this fixed the scanning issue with the AAX version in Pro Tools. All is good here!

One thing, would you consider adding a lock color feature to the individual slots, similar to the UI? I for example like to change mine to black, and its a bit annoying having to go through each one. And when swapping an insert, it defaults back to blue. Just a little way to streamline everything :)

It looks like you maybe want to be able to change the default slots color instead of having lock (which would not solve the problem of loading a new plug-in).

This precisely. The ability to change the default color of the individual slots.
