Fair enough. Childhood trauma is an acceptable answer for any aversion, in my book. :ud:

My daughter had some ukulele lessons at school. She was getting pretty good. I’d actually bought her a $60 model from Guitar Center that wasn’t really bad, and she was finally getting use out of it. For her birthday, I bought her a nicer model, and got myself one as well, so we could play together.

That was all she needed to stop playing the ukulele ever again.

I've used a Rondo Ukulele Bass guitar, but no high-pitched guitar.

I don't know if the standard ukulele inspired the ubass, but that turned out ok.

I bought my Missus a 25€ uke for Xmas 15 years ago. I learned a few chords, then haven‘t touched it in 14 years. It is practically unplayable/untuneable. We were talking about getting a ‚real one‘ but it never happened.
I‘d definitely use one if it was decent and setup properly.
The song that always comes to mind with a uke is McCartney‘s ‚Ram On.‘
