Wry Antiphrasis (Seismic Inevitability Delayed)

Here is another piece from 2024 whose release was deferred by negligence, resulting in a 16 month delay in its first public appearance.
The last time I used Elottronix XL was in 2009 (although this plugin is at least 6 years older than that), so I put my mind to using it again after such an unreasonably long delay.
Any jokes are undeniably corny, intentional, but fully justifiable.

Is that a choir or a synth preset? The track starts with a kind of vocal-like
swelling pad sound. It thus opens up a vast, imaginative world of reflection
and thought. The individual string sounds (pizzicato?) suggest a rhythmic
pattern. The track builds slowly, epically sweeping and contemplative.
For such an epic, long journey, a duration of just over 5 minutes is far too
short. Overall: Very coherent, incomparable - beautifully done.

Hi, Tim, how are you? Great work, not really my cup of tea, but enjoyed it nonetheless
. Just an idea, would adding more reverb and making the sounds wider can provide additional ambience to the song?
Best,
Adi

It's a slightly modified (waveshaping) synth preset from Z3ta+2. I've used Z3ta+2 since late 2014, and that particular sound is something that I return to every 2 or 3 years. The string sounds are a Warped Absynth piano pattern through the Elottronix delay.enroe wrote: Fri Apr 10, 2026 6:30 am Is that a choir or a synth preset? The track starts with a kind of vocal-like

I've got a fair amount of reverb and width on the Iris vocals and the Z3ta+2 synth, not so much on the bass synth. The delayed piano might make you a little dizzy if I panned it any further, but I could probably make a small tweak to the Imager settings for that instrument. Watch this space.

Love it. Put me right under. You could have probably pulled a tooth while I was out.

Great sound design, and a lot of fun things rhythmically going on in this track. The pad layers have an 80s OST vibe to me. Very cool track.

That imagery works for me, particularly with my recent aquatic adventures (Koh Samet, Koh Lan and the Chao Phraya, although travel insurance can be tricky).vurt wrote: Fri Apr 17, 2026 11:10 pm nice work as always
