Caine123 wrote: Thu Apr 16, 2026 5:18 pm stupid question, i totally forgot, the people of Zebra 2 License get Zebra 3? or how do i check if i get the Zebra 3 upgrade/license or might need to pay the upgrade still? I'm unsure as it was long ago i think i paid something or not. dunno anymore :D

thx a lot to both of you!

Ask yourself this....how small would every module have to be in order to see them all at the same time? Would they have to be so small that they would be nearly impossible to see or would critical elements have to be hidden thereby affecting functionality ?

We now have the feature to create Groups that only show the modules selected for that group. Use the Plus sign at the top of the stacks area then select the modules you want that group to display (shift to select multiple modules).

I use them to group all the modules in each stack so it only shows the modules in that stack. Helps keep things organized by signal flow.

In the end UI design is pretty much a no win situation for complex synths. Make it bigger, people complain it's too big for their laptop screen. Make it tabbed, people complain about tabs and so on.

So UI design is about finding a compromise that satisfies the largest number of users since you'll never satisfy 100% of them 100% of the time.

I wouldn't want them to be smaller, but I'd like to resize the window so that you can see more at the same time, like Kontakt for example.

My previous post is especially negative because I felt disappointed that the UI isn't cutting edge like the backend is.

We had quite the discussion about this internally, many moons ago, and I would not make the user interface expandable that way even if I could. It would compromise mousing distance over mouse precision.

Yes. i very much prefer the way it’s handled now as a “show as needed or on need-basis”. That avoids a lot of visual clutter with a synth that has this many options, routings, modules, modulations and functions.

I've been enjoying Zebra 3! Sounds great! One thing I'm kind of baffled about at the moment is that the MSEG only has two trigger modes, single and poly, both of which restart the MSEG with each note. Why no way to make it free running? Is there some other way, short of DAW automation/modulation, of drawing a custom curve to modulate something over the course of a bar or something like that?

So things that are part of the synth voice but also run globally have a surprising tendency to expose unpredictable behaviour. This gets a whole lot worse when voices can run concurrently on different CPU cores. As we still hope to be able to implement multicore support, we can't even think about adding any global mode to the MSEGs. We need to keep it simple for the time being.

For a freely running, drawable modulation curve, use Mappers in "Map Smooth" mode driven by slowly running sawtooth LFOs. You can draw the curve in an MSEG, then copy and paste the curve into the Mapper's editor. No morphing here, but two Mappers can be crossfaded in the ModMath modules, if needed.

The kraken is released! It's difficult to imagine what unimaginable noises will come out of it in the coming years :)

Amazing work guys! It's undeniably on another level of most other synths on the market.
