This would be excellent. IME, there isn't a plugin that loads TX81Z sysex accurately.sheaf wrote: Sun Apr 19, 2026 7:00 am At some point I'd like to add direct DX7 SysEx import (and maybe other FM synths with compatible waveforms)

Damn I did not realise that. One of the main reasons I was drawn to Swayed, was because I own both an SY55 and TG55 along with all seven official Yamaha WAVE card sets. I've long wanted a VSTi of my hardware. I wonder if the developer had any access to the SY55 data from the corresponding cards that are paired with those WAVE cards? If not, I will need to try and save the data from my own collection of cards and email them to the developer. Hopefully then he can update Swayed to function properly when using SY55 presets etc.soundman007 wrote: Sun Apr 19, 2026 3:51 pmI should qualify my statement. It seems to be OK when playing SY77 presets. It happens when playing SY55 presets. If I then play C3 on my SY77 keyboard it shows as being C2 on the level scaling window in filters. Probably has to do with the fact that it has less keys?sheaf wrote: Sun Apr 19, 2026 3:36 pmLabeling of notes in the GUI? Or actual MIDI note handling?soundman007 wrote: Sun Apr 19, 2026 2:08 pm I just noticed that the octave scaling in Swayed is different to that of the SY77. C2 in Swayed is C3 on the SY77. Why is this?
Also the SY55 presets most of the time make non-sensical sounds, even when using the SY55 wave cards.

Maybe you could try things for yourself if you have Swayed. I could send you the sysex file with the factory presets. I'll also pass these on to sheaf. There is this site (see below) which has demos of all the factory sounds, so I could easily compare with what I have got. Especially GX Dream is completely ridiculous, it only plays some piano like sounds from C5 upwards and nothing but clicks below.

Great news sheaf! Your turn around time in fixing bugs is exemplary.sheaf wrote: Mon Apr 20, 2026 6:30 am This is fixed in 1.0.2, which I want to release in a couple of hours.

Yes. Sonar and FL are the only ones that default to C5. They hate negative octaves, I guess. But it's kind of wrong, oh well.

That's a lot of dosh for anyone who isn't invested into the eco system.
Obviously those who have related hardware units will be happy.

I think it's pretty fair. More expensive VSTi's are pretty common. Good product, active development with good support, iconic sound with a huge selection of presets... If you don't want or care about it, that's fine, of course.Seluvis wrote: Mon Apr 20, 2026 1:04 pm That's a lot of dosh for anyone who isn't invested into the eco system.

Yeah each to their own. You are right to say so.cvale wrote: Mon Apr 20, 2026 2:20 pmI think it's pretty fair. More expensive VSTi's are pretty common. Unfortunately there is another NaN bug that's still present in 1.0.2
The first NaN bug was in the panning module, but this one is in the filter module. Luckily I was able to find the cause, so I hope I can finally put this thing to bed once and for all with the upcoming 1.0.3 update.
I have no idea how prevalent this issue is compared to the other one, but if you come across a NaN again, this is why.

There is zero need to own any of the hardware units or be invested in the ecosystem in anywaySeluvis wrote: Mon Apr 20, 2026 1:04 pm That's a lot of dosh for anyone who isn't invested into the eco system.

This replaces the hardware units. The plugin comes with the improved factory sample library and a bunch of presets
You actually get more with the plugin than someone who spent $3,000 on an SY77 in 1989 (almost 8 Grand in 2026 money) or $2000-$2500 for the TG77 in 1990.
There seems to be massive confusion that this is like one of the emulators from "The Usual Suspects" that you need to download a ROM or BIN file for it to work
You don't, while it can load old ROM files for extra sample content or presets there is zero reason to and the overwhelming vast majority of presets on the Internet are total crap anyway
The plugin itself very shortly will be able to load any samples you want. That feature will BLOW AWAY the original hardware and is something I would have killed for in 1990
Buy Swayed because it's a kick ass FM synth that you can layer with your own user samples or incorporate those samples into the FM sound engine
