I recently got a problem when trying to use some vocoder plugins in Sonar 4. But I got it to work after a while. Thought I might post it here in case someone else needs help with it.

I started out as usual, added an audiotrack with the audiofile that i wanted to be "vocoded". In the FX bin I put the vocoder. Then I added a midi track where I put the midi data that I wanted the vocoder to use. Then I tried to chose the Vocoder in the Output field.. but It didnt show there! Seemed like I only could chose dxi/vst software synths there.

Hmm,..well here is the solution.

Open the Cakewalk VST Adapter and run it as usual. When it has stopped scanning you get a list of all plugins availabe. Then click on your vocoder plugin and chose "Properties..". Then you check the box that says "Configure as DXi synth". Done!

Now you should be able to chose it in the Output field of the midi track.

Hope this helps someone.
