Very generous of you to make the upgrade free for owners of Zebra 2 and Dark Zebra. Thank you, Urs.

yes, tons of it. for the past 14 years or so. yes 14 years.
read the u-he forum. read the u-he website. read the post before yours.
free upgrade is for folk who own Z2 and Dark Zebra.
"After 10 years of speculation about an imminent Zebra3 release, things are starting to inch forward again. In 2012 we announced that the upgrade to Zebra3 would be free for existing owners of Zebra2 plus The Dark Zebra, otherwise $30 USD, and of course we will honour that promise."

The wavetable paradigm in Zebra 3 is different from the typical "wave to frame" based one.Lbdunequest wrote: Tue Apr 21, 2026 10:41 am Where i can find wavetables? it seems like Zebra 3 only comes with standart waves?
Wavetables are created parametrically using curves. If you are familiar with vector based drawing there are parallels between those methods and wavetable creation in Zebra.
It's an incredibly elegant and powerful solution.

Eventually, yes.Zipede wrote: Tue Apr 21, 2026 11:37 am Will there be a lighter skin made available? Even though dark skins look smarter, my old eyes have a hard time with white characters on black backgrounds.

We can hand draw our own waveforms or load single cycle .wavs into the slots. Importing full size samples works but the results are unpredictable (but at times desirable) and it can be crashy so I wouldn't recommend trying it for now.kraster wrote: Tue Apr 21, 2026 12:17 pmThe wavetable paradigm in Zebra 3 is different from the typical "wave to frame" based one.Lbdunequest wrote: Tue Apr 21, 2026 10:41 am Where i can find wavetables? it seems like Zebra 3 only comes with standart waves?

Sweeping through a wavetable or spline curve set or whatever you want to call them with an MSEG or LFO for example works as it would in other synths. Random to Curve Morph works well for adding variation to a sound.
I'm still trying to get my head around this and how to use it to create audibly better results but that will probably come with time on task:

I'm fine with the default theme but I was going to try doing an edit of it just for fun. However the files are in .svg format and I've never had much luck editing them. I can edit .bmps and .pngs with no problem but my preferred graphics program doesn't handle .svg files very well. I've tried Inkscape and Gimp with very little to no success.zvenx wrote: Tue Apr 21, 2026 12:30 pm I have learned to tolerate the new skin, I still don't like it.
Looking forward to when there are more skins (more choices).

Hopefully Plugmon will do a lighter theme for those who want it so maybe if people express the willingness to pay for such a theme it will incentivize him to make one.

If you are only changing colors... then there's no need to edit the SVG's.Teksonik wrote: Tue Apr 21, 2026 2:00 pm I'm fine with the default theme but I was going to try doing an edit of it just for fun. Thanks... I noticed since I created a theme, that now when I enable the Editor and go into the Shapes Editor, that there are 2 of every SVG file. Makes sense since the themes can be switched on the fly, but it makes it confusing.
So I'm removing the theme and editing the main files until I have what I want, then I'll turn it into a theme.

For now, you can only load Osc Presets which includes all Osc settings. They are going to add the ability to load just the Curve Sets.Lbdunequest wrote: Tue Apr 21, 2026 2:24 pm
